- Approximately 8,500ft (2,590m) across 23 holes to depths of 200–600ft, targeting skarn-hosted tungsten mineralisation.
- Field logging and shortwave ultraviolet inspection indicate scheelite-bearing skarn in multiple drillholes.
- Samples have been dispatched for assay. Results will inform a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.

Good to see the drilling wrapped up, and that the early signs are positive. To be sure, testing with ultraviolet isn’t the same as receiving back full assay results, but it does indicated, nevertheless, that the company is on the right track. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the full assays, or indeed the much anticipated maiden mineral resource. In the meantime, the tungsten price remains strong, and Great Western’s position appears to be strengthening.

GWMO has reported highly encouraging initial metallurgical results from its Defender Tungsten Project in Nevada, with test work recovering 92.98% of the tungsten from pre-treated material.

93% of the tungsten recovered from pre-treated material into a rougher concentrate grading 7.2% WO₃, up from 0.35% WO₃
Results compare favourably with similar rougher test work undertaken by other regional skarn-hosted tungsten projects.
Supports the potential to process Defender mineralisation using established flotation methods.
Further test work will focus on increasing concentrate grade towards potential marketable product specifications.
