Galaxy has been selected by @MorganStanley Investment Management as an approved validator to power staking for two new digital asset ETPs: Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (MSOL).
Both products aim to track the performance of ETH and SOL, and each intends to stake a portion of its holdings through institutional validators, passing staking rewards back to shareholders through regular distributions.

Huge day for liquid staking with SEC guidance clarifying LSTs are not securities. I started this work in 2021 along with @AMangiero and @TeamPOSA to ensure LSTs could reach mainstream adoption.
From the start with the support of some of the best lawyers we quickly created a legal framework for LSTs:
1. LSTs, and the relationships they create, are very similar to a contractual relationship that has existed for centuries: bailments.
2. With LSTs, the staker deposits the underlying asset (i.e ETH) and receives a (LST that evidences their ownership of the staked asset. They have the added benefit of securing the protocol with the flexibility of transferring, selling or utilizing the LST in DeFi.
3. The best example to date comes from warehouse receipts for commodities which have been around for decades. Today on the CME traders aren’t custodying millions of pounds of wheat on the trading floor.
4. Now its definitive that LSTs are not securities or ICs but instead are electronic documents of title.

How expensive is unstaking ETH?
When funds unstake ETH, the exit + withdrawal queue time eats into staking returns. At a 4% staking APR:
10-day queue → ~11bps lost
30-day queue → ~33bps lost
60-day queue → ~66bps lost
For institutions, long queues = real costs. Managing liquidity is key.
