4 years ago, my last company got rejected by Y-Combinator.
At the interview, they told me they didn't believe demand existed for the products we were making.
I was devastated.
But then, one of the interviewers followed up over email with, "I hope you prove me wrong."
We bootstrapped to over $10MM that first year.
