It's funny being accused of ego lifting. My goal when training has never been developing a big body at all. I have since a young age been a professional athlete in both Track & Field and Basketball. The goal instead has always been developing a strong and explosive one that combines strength with speed which suits the athleticism in the profession of the chosen sports. I had some great PB's when I was 13 years old. 100m: 10:71 seconds (training timing, may be little over 11 seconds) 200m: 22:78 seconds (official timed at event) Long Jump: 6.27m Triple Jump: 14:55m I'm quite short when it came to basketball with just being 178cm tall, so it was important for me to have that extreme speed from running and combined that with training of muscles so I didn't get bumped away like a pinball when crashing in to some dude that was over 2m and weights like 120kg when in the air. I got a great explanation from one of my trainers that I have extremely strong muscles tissues that are attached to the bones so I can develop great strength even while being lean. So i don't really give seven fucks if I can leg press 500kg or 700kgs etc because that doesn't matter a shit when I need to put my body to use in real life. Like in a basketball match where I need to outperform the competition for 40 minutes. or when in track & field where I need to keep myself in peak condition throughout the day saving energy to use to 120% at some event. I built my body through hard work in sports and strength in the gym is just a bonus for me.
