Unpopular opinion:
The Abahambe movement is a direct counter to โKill the Boerโ rhetoric. If critics argue that Abahambe protests are linked to displacement and violence in communities, then by the exact same logic, farm attacks must also be a direct result of โKill the Boerโ chants and songs.
Figures like Ernst Roets and other AfriForum leaders have worked tirelessly, travelling the world to lobby governments and build international cases against Julius Malema.
March leaders regularly accuse Malema of enabling the flood of illegal immigrants into South Africa. One has to wonder what is really going on.
Who is actually funding these marches and groups like PhakelโUmthakathi?
Has the โwhite genocideโ narrative simply died down? Or has it evolved into something more strategic - something designed to strike directly at the heart of what Malema calls for: the unity of Africans in Africa?

The EFFโs Statement Condemning the Weaponisation and Abuse of the State Security Agency by the ANC
-According to court testimony, millions of rands from the SSA were misused to fund a covert operation specifically targeted at spying on EFF caucuses and trying to destabilise our organisation by aggressively poaching influential leaders back to the ANC. This constitutional delinquency occurred at the height of our robust opposition to state capture and former President Jacob Zuma. It is completely unacceptable that tax money was spent on illegal surveillance of a democratically elected political party rather than protecting the citizens of South Africa.
ICYMI: EFF Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Nthabiseng Tshivhenga outlines the partyโs plans to tackle crime and corruption, insource municipal services and boost local economic growth at the We the Nation debate. Missed it? Watch the full episode here: enca.com/.../we-nation-electโฆ...

Recent disclosures in the Gauteng High Court corruption trial of former SSA Special Operations head Thulani "Silence" Dlomo and his deputy, Patrick Mshothola, confirm that the State Security Agency (SSA) infiltrated the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to conduct surveillance and incentivize the defection of members to the African National Congress (ANC).
Following successful litigation by several media organizations and civil society groups against the SSAโs request for closed proceedings, Judge Mashudu Munzhelele mandated the release of redacted intelligence records and authorized media access to the trial.
**Covert Operations: Project Mayibuye and "Safe Return"**
The infiltration was facilitated through Operation Mayibuye, an off-the-books SSA initiative established in 2015 during the Jacob Zuma administration, which included the sub-operations "Safe Return" and "Sesikhona."
The initiative originated following the EFFโs emergence in 2013 and its subsequent electoral performance in 2014, which diminished the ANCโs youth and grassroots support. The SSAโs Special Operations Unit (SOU) leveraged these resources to target the EFFโs organizational integrity rather than legitimate security concerns. The "Safe Return" strategy involved embedding operatives to monitor leadership, exacerbate internal factionalism, and pressure disillusioned members to return to the ANC.
**Constitutional Assessment**
The High-Level Review Panel on the SSA and the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture both categorized Operation Mayibuye as unconstitutional, concluding that the SSA had been repurposed to advance the partisan interests of the ruling party and the presidency at the time.
**Corruption Prosecution**
Criminal proceedings against Dlomo and Mshothola have provided judicial verification of these operations. The pair face charges including fraud, forgery, and theft under the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, specifically regarding the alleged misappropriation of R12 million in 2015. These funds were reportedly withdrawn in three tranches under the pretense of compensating a service provider for covert work related to Operation Mayibuye.
Discrepancies identified by the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) revealed that the entity named on the invoices did not receive the designated funds. The company director testified that he had no prior association with Dlomo, did not execute the contract, and that his signature was fraudulently obtained.
The conflict regarding transparency versus judicial confidentiality emerged after the State Security Agencyโs (SSA) unsuccessful attempt to restrict public access to the proceedings:
Initial Procedural Seclusion: On 14 October, the court initially ordered a public and media blackout, citing SSA concerns that open testimony could compromise intelligence methodologies, operational personnel, and international partnerships.
Media Advocacy: Media24 (News24), Daily Maverick, the Mail & Guardian, and the Campaign for Free Expression (CFE) filed an urgent intervention, contending that national security protocols must not be leveraged to obstruct the disclosure of corruption, misappropriation of public funds, or illicit domestic political surveillance.

Who is really sabotaging Tshwane? Accountability starts at the top, not with a plant manager.
The rushed suspension of the Bronkhorstspruit plant manager just before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee briefing was not accountability. It was stage management. It let the City walk into Parliament looking like a victim of rogue officials, instead of answering for its own political failures.
The facts are in the government's own briefing to Parliament. Slide 26 records that in February 2026, the Department of Water and Sanitation issued a non-compliance letter on the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Works. In March 2026, the City submitted an action plan with clear commitments: secure treatment chemicals, refurbish filters, install pumps, and recruit for critical posts. The department's finding is blunt: none of these commitments were implemented in the timeframes provided.
So we ask, who is responsible for filling those posts? Recruitment sits with Corporate and Shared Services and the MMC responsible is from ActionSA. In March 2026, that portfolio was led by ActionSA's Kholofelo Morodi, who was then fired over corruption allegations raised at the Madlanga Commission. Since April it has been led by another ActionSA MMC, Flora Monama.
For seven months, the portfolio responsible for staffing the City has been in ActionSA's hands. The posts were not filled, and the plant was left without the qualified process controllers that DWS says it needs.

Replying to @Ngwana_Badimu @KgosiLalas
The breakdown in @CityTshwane is systemic. Executive Mayor @NasiphiMoya handles overall governance, MMC Mashola is over water procurement, and MMC Hannes Coetzee is mandated to protect municipal assets. All three have dropped the ball collectively. No more excuses.
