Why not “bite the bullet” and be seen as a school who prioritizes children above all else versus just reacting to what you have to do? The former positions @guidepostschool as a leader. The latter erodes parental confidence.

Between that. Probably low hundreds. Not sure how many in Northern VA. Am looking into it. I think the chances that Biden’s mandate goes through are high, in which case we have to bite that bullet anyway.

I’m all for evidence based decision making, but there should be evidence, not a hunch based on a few personal relationships. How about polling teachers, or assessing how many already are vaccinated? Are we talking about losing 10 or 1000?

…and I don’t think there is. I know of specific teachers who would likely quit who are good educators. It would be a loss.

@mbateman moving toward requiring vaccines was a key part of the justification for combining classrooms next month. Parents need to be officially informed that is no longer on the table. This is irresponsible!
Hi, Joni. I'm one of the people responsible for covid policy at Guidepost. We've oscillated about requiring vaccines for staff, and ultimately decided against it. (Depending on how Biden's mandate plays out in the courts, we may end up requiring it anyway.)

Our Head of School sent it. Forwarding now.
Do you have evidence for this? Many employers have vaccine mandates and have not seen significant attrition. I question whether someone who refuses to get vaccinated (w/o exemption) and shows poor judgement should be trusted around our young children anyway?
3. If we mandate vaccines we will lose a lot of staff.

This is a big one. Why are the rules different for different adults? We should all be focused on keeping children (and their own families who may be vulnerable) safe.
