We're back! On Season 3 of Mogul we'll dive into the legend of DJ Screw, the mysterious man behind chopped & screwed, a style that's still popular in hip hop today. Follow and listen for free on @Spotify starting June 23rd! open.spotify.com/episode/6Ke…
Matt's podcast accolades are undeniable. Barry Jenkins did once say that the cold open of episode 1, season 3 was quite good. It's only right that he gets a chance to run in the @nyrr 5th Ave mile media heat.
For clarity, Matt did not write this tweet.
One more thing: hey @nyrr what do I have to do to get into that media heat? I work for @Gimletmedia and I've won a Webby and Barry Jenkins said he liked the cold open I made to start the last season of @mogul. LET
ME
IN!

this week on @mogul we tell the story of 1998.
By then, DJ Screw made enough off his tapes to open a store on Houston’s south side.
But while he fixated on being big in his city, the SUC was signing record deals. And from there, shit gets dark, fast.

Alright everyone!!! In today's episode we get into DJ Screw's Rise; he's selling thousands of tapes, opening his own shop, and breaking into the Mainstream!
But in all that light, darkness isn't too far away..

Alright, @mogul and @gabbybulgarelli back at it with another episode. This time we catch up with #DJScrew selling thousands of dollars of tapes a day, and then setting up shop: Screwed Up Records and Tapes. But shit also starts to get a little dark.
