Also the other way around even at #Token2049 and #Devcon I tried to make meaningful conversation with companies sponsoring booth and they were more interested to just giveaway merch rather than have any business conversation. Even many of those just hired models who have zero knowledge about the brand they are representing nor the product.

@EFDevcon 8 this year is filled with 80% merch hunters who are rude and have zero respect for personal space & boundaries.
on one hand, i’m extremely happy to be able to have better conversations with people and getting my questions answered in talks and workshops, just because the number of people attending those are small
but when trying to chat or learn about projects at booths when they have merch displayed, or even at workshops where you get to “take it home”, you just get push and shoved, have people taking things and not participating, or even have items stolen (happened to my friend right next to me)
