Have tons of new faces following along so I figured I would reintroduce myself!
I’m Zach Molzer, a Kansas City–based multifamily developer and the founder of Molzer Development.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska and have been addicted to real estate for as long as I can remember.
I officially launched Molzer Development in March of 2024, focused on adaptive reuse and ground-up multifamily projects across the Heart of America.
Since then, we’ve scaled fast.
Today, we have $45M+ in active development under construction, multiple projects breaking ground and stabilizing through 2026 and beyond.
The flagship project is The Aladdin; a ~$37M redevelopment of a 100-year-old, 16-story historic tower in downtown Kansas City.
We’re utilizing historic tax credits, preserving irreplaceable architecture, and turning a long-vacant icon into housing, amenities, and community space.
Along the way, this account (& all of our socials!) have turned into something bigger than I expected.
What started as sharing behind-the-scenes development updates has grown into a platform centered on transparency, numbers, wins, mistakes, and the actual process of building cities.
We’re now +250,000 followers across platforms, averaging 7M+ views per MONTH.
When I’m not on a job site or in a spreadsheet, you’ll find me:
– Spending time with my girlfriend and family
– On the golf course
– Hanging with my dawgs
– Trying new KC spots
– Watching the Chiefs and the Huskers
I believe deeply in building in public, owning your story, and using community as leverage; not just capital.
If you read this and thought, “that guy seems fun, a little weird, and probably way too into buildings,” you’re mostly right.
Be a sponge. Stay curious. Build things that matter.
If you want a front-row seat as I keep building an empire (and having a lot of fun doing it), give me a follow @molzer.
Godspeed.
Sometimes the art of negotiating a deal makes me want to rip my eyes out.
But it is also addicting and I like seeing things so I’ll hold off
Been quiet on here for a little. I’m sorry…
I am fully aware all of you look forward to staying in tune with my life.
It has been a hectic last few weeks & I am excited to share what’s next for Molz Dev soon.
(also been a good time to mentally process my ‘skers last 2 weeks)
The best opportunities come to those who wait and are patient, but can execute & move quickly when the time comes.

Possibly the single worst part of being in the real estate business:
Having to log into a bunch of different bank websites, each of which has different login pages for "commercial", "business banking", "real estate" and so on, with different meanings for those terms depending on the bank.
You do it just rarely enough that you forget your passwords, so you have to reset all the time, but you can't use the last 5 pws you used previously, so you have to come up with increasingly baroque pws, which makes it less likely you will remember them next time.
And each of them (i) refuses to just clone your bookkeeper permissions automatically for each new loan, so you have to do it manually, and (ii) has a slightly different and totally counter-intuitive interface for assigning user permissions, which you also don't use quite often enough to remember them, so you need to get a bank employee on the phone each time.
Does Jonathan Gray have to do this sh*t???
AAAAAAAAAA
You all thought watching us redevelop The Aladdin was fun to watch?
Round 2 is going to be electric. More soon...

The life of a Nebraska football fan.
We are the most tortured fanbase in the history of sports.
33 straight Top 25 losses.
A million straight 1 score losses.
You could not have scripted a worse way to lose tonight.
We find ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every single game.
It is the single most cursed program in the history of organized sports
My heart has been broken one too many times.
I’ll give it my fight until my time is done, no matter what.
Lots of bad days; but they’re all behind us. Only ⬆️
Go Big Red🌽🎈🔴
