AURC here we come! 🚀
Dawned in our matching, bright green Wyvern sunnies, the team has started their journey to White Cliffs, NSW. 💚🐲
We are so excited to share our progress, stay tuned for more updates!
🚀 Race 2 Space 2025 – Solaris MkIII Hot Fire 🔥
This year, Monash HPR travelled to the UK to put our newest hybrid engine, Solaris MkIII, to the test. we achieved ignition and captured data that exceeded expectations-reaching 11.9 kN of thrust.
Monash HPR would like to give a big thank you to @mtburnettobservatory for generously allowing us to photograph Project Zenith beneath the stars!
It was an incredible opportunity to not only capture our rocket in a stunning setting but also to develop our night photography skills
We are grateful for their ongoing support and for inspiring the next generation of star-gazers and photographers!

Happy International Women in Engineering Day!
Today, we celebrate the incredible contributions of women in engineering - from technical innovation to spreading knowledge to the community. We are proud of the important work these engineers do and the impact they continue to make.
This year’s theme, ‘Together We Engineer’, highlights the importance of inclusivity in engineering. It reminds us that by fostering acceptance and collaboration, we can continue to break down barriers and reach even greater heights.

With the Race 2 Space competition starting next week, Monash HPR has been provided a unique opportunity to test Solaris MkIII on a commercial hot fire stand and gain valuable insight into our engines characteristics prior to development of our own oxidiser system.
We send a special thank you to the Motorola Solutions Foundation for providing the resources to fund the development of Solaris MkIII. We also thank ARSTN for supporting the travel costs for the team members travelling to @Race_2_Space to test this engine for the first time.
Monash HPR is proud to reveal Solaris MkIII🔥
Solaris MkIII represents 6 years of engine development at Monash HPR and is our most ambitious project yet. This engine aims to produce a stunning 10kN of thrust with liquid oxygen and paraffin wax to propel the team to new heights!🚀
We are very excited at the opportunity to test our engine on a commercial hot fire stand and gain valuable insight into our engines characteristics!
Stay tuned, more information on this to come soon!
The Race 2 Space competition has provided an amazing opportunity for our team to get involved globally, learn from international teams and represent our country in the collegiate propulsion space.
Thanks to the generous support of the Australian Rocket Systems Training Network (ARSTN) who have graciously supported travel costs, members of our Propulsion team are currently on their way to the UK to take part in this competition with our latest project!
Our competition season isn't over yet! We are thrilled to announce that we will be competing at the Race 2 Space (R2S) Propulsion Competition for 2025!
Monash HPR is proud to announce that we are the winners of the Jim Furfaro Award for Technical Excellence, and runners-up in the 10,000 ft SRAD Hybrid category with Project Zenith at the 2025 International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC)!
This achievement marks the culmination of over two years of tireless commitment, perseverance and drive. Project Zenith has been the most ambitious and technically challenging endeavour our team has ever undertaken.
It represents hundreds of thousands of collective hours spent designing, simulating, manufacturing, testing, and launching - an extraordinary journey driven entirely by student passion and dedication.
Before the competition, Project Zenith had already seen two successful launches in Australia, both of which demonstrated the strength of our design and the capability of our hybrid propulsion system.
