HGSS is arguably one of the best examples of game balancing in the pokemon franchise… but nobody wants you to believe that
There is no level curve
This game just presents the challenges in different manners that the player is meant to navigate/experience
But why do we not hear about this level curve?
Why is it only in Johto?
This team fought every trainer in every gym (minus Brock)
And in victory road
And was still vastly under leveled for the challenge of the E4
Coming in at 80% of the lowest level E4 team member
And how was it possible to utilize an entire team of pokemon 3-10 levels below the opponent and still consistently win?
STRATEGY
In HGSS you basically get 2/3 members at/above the starting level of the E4 (not including box legendary)
You get there more prepared than other gens
