I will respond in more detail once I'm done with irl stuff, but Gojo's six eyes enable spatial manipulation at the atomic level. Them enabling perception of space at that level is a corollary of that. There's nothing really ambiguous about it.

Kamui is extremely slow, and Sukuna only caught Gojo off-guard at a pivotal moment. He spun a masterful illusion and appeared helpless, then pulled it out of nowhere as an insta-kill we didn't even see on-screen.
Kamui has a wind-up, and takes time to penetrate space
