MAJOR U.S. BANKS DETECT UNAUTHORIZED AI AGENTS ACCESSING CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS — AXIOS Major banks, including $JPM, $BAC, $MS and $WFC, are confronting security risks from third-party AI agents accessing customer accounts, according to Axios. Some agents have reportedly attempted actions beyond user instructions, raising concerns about unauthorized transactions and fund transfers. Morgan Stanley has begun blocking third-party agents, while JPMorgan, Bank of America and Citi are restricting access. Banks warn they cannot reliably distinguish legitimate user activity from autonomous AI agents, even when customers have voluntarily shared their credentials.

The State Department has asked some foreign service officials up for promotion who they voted for in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections, raising concerns the agency is violating a federal law that bars politicized personnel decisions within the nonpartisan ranks. washingtonsun.com/administra…

SCOOP: The State Dept has started asking career diplomats up for promotion if they voted for Trump in 16, 20, 24. Federal law prohibits politically based hiring for career staff. State tells @washingtonsun it's screening for "fidelity" and execution of the president's vision👇

The situation is getting worse every hour. AI agents are entering U.S. bank accounts, and banks are scrambling to shut them out. Axios reports that some appear to attempt actions beyond users instructions, raising fears over who is really in control.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. JUST IN: Most of the “unauthorized” artificial intelligence (AI) agents found in US bank accounts were let in by the customers, with their own passwords, per Axios. The banks never approved them. Even with the customer's consent, an agent using their login breaks most banks' rules. Some agents have contacted call centres or seemed to act without being asked, unnamed people told Axios. Many banks cannot tell an agent the customer sent from a rogue one. Morgan Stanley is blocking outside agents. Citi, JPMorgan and Bank of America are restricting access. Morgan Stanley said it has not seen 'rogue AI agents accessing our platforms'. Axios gave no count of cases and reported no losses. “You don't want rogue agents, and there could be thousands of them,” JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon said on 13th Oct.

JUST IN: 32 UK government services went offline and 4 more were partly down over a critical flaw in PHP, a widely used programming language for websites, UK technology minister Baroness Lloyd of Effra told the House of Lords. She said the outages were mostly a precaution while security fixes are applied. PHP's makers released fixes on 21st Oct for 2 flaws that could let an attacker run code on a web server without logging in. OpenAI technology helped find them, she said. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) told organisations that cannot patch in time to consider taking systems offline. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) gave the same advice. Downing Street said the outages do not mean the services were hacked. The minister said she knows of no compromise in the UK public sector. The 32 services have not been named.

The world is being carved up anew—without Europe. According to reports from *The Atlantic* magazine, Trump intends to have a peace agreement regarding Ukraine signed as early as December—during a G20 summit held at his own golf club in Miami. To achieve this, he is reportedly prepared to exert pressure on Kyiv. As the magazine details, Trump envisions himself standing between Putin and Zelenskyy as the agreement is signed. This could be preceded by a meeting in China this November involving the U.S. President, Putin, and Xi Jinping. Furthermore, Trump has shown interest in the concept of dividing the world into spheres of influence among the three major powers. Meanwhile, Ukrainian government officials fear that decisions concerning the future of Ukraine could be made without their participation.

In August 1948, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game dropped 76 live beavers by parachute into the remote Chamberlain Basin as part of a relocation project (often called the "beaver drop" rather than "Operation High Dive"). The effort moved nuisance beavers away from human towns into the wilderness.... After World War II, beavers were causing trouble in the resort town of McCall, Idaho, chewing down trees and clogging irrigation ditches. Instead of killing them, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game decided to move them to the remote Chamberlain Basin, deep in the backcountry. There was one problem. Hauling them in by horseback took days, and many beavers overheated and died along the way. A Fish and Game employee named Elmo Heter came up with a better idea. Using leftover Army parachutes from the war, he designed lightweight wooden boxes that held two beavers each and popped open when they hit the ground. The plan worked. Of the 76 beavers dropped, only one died, after chewing its way out of its box in midair. The rest went on to build dams and new colonies across the basin. Footage of the drop sat forgotten for decades until it was rediscovered in the state’s archives, restored and shared online, where it went viral. Before the real drop, Heter tested his boxes on an old male beaver the team named Geronimo. After being dropped over and over again, Geronimo reportedly started climbing back into the box on his own. He was rewarded with a spot on the first flight, along with three female companions. #archaeohistories

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ The voting difficulties are now being reported in OH, FL, TX, TN, & SC! Check, recheck, & check again!
There is a very disturbing trend being seen in early voting. Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio are reporting difficulties getting the machines to accept democratic votes. The machines change them back to Republican unless the voter persists, pressing several times to get the correct vote to go through. Check your machine, check to see that it accepted the correct vote. Make sure your voice counts.
