Experimenting with textured backgrounds, allowing the painting to develop a weathered, imperfect character.
As I continued painting, I found myself gradually falling in love with imperfection.
The uneven colours, the accidental marks, the little flaws — somehow, they give the painting more depth and character.
Like sweet chocolate with a hint of bitterness,
or tea that tastes slightly astringent at first, then slowly leaves a sweet aftertaste.
Some beauty lies not in perfection, but in what lingers.

也許山上真的給人充電💡...我突然想到了一位做了30年裁縫的遠親--也許我可以請教她？
所以今天就登門拜訪了...
跟她說了我的縫紉學習之路。給她看了我做的衣服，正好身上穿著。她驚呼：“這是你做的？我以為你買的😲”然後，我得到了她的認可：“你真的有這方面的天份，不是每個人學了裁剪就能做，你才學那幾個月，現在可以設計/做出自己的款式了，你可以出道了！”
所以，我這算是得到專業裁縫的認證了嗎？😂
但是我覺得自己還是不行啊，我求她收我為徒，我可以付學費，或幫她打雜。但她堅持不要，說我已經可以做了，不必學了...有問題找她她可以分享...
向她請教了我卡著的地方。在她的一番指點之下，我的困惑終於被解開...✨🧵

I suddenly thought of a distant relative who’s been a seamstress for 30 years. Maybe I could ask her for some advice?
So today, I paid her a visit…
I told her about my sewing journey so far and showed her the clothes I’d made. As it happened, I was wearing one of my own creations.
She exclaimed, “You made this? I thought you bought it!” 😲
Then came her professional verdict:
“You really have a talent for this. Not everyone who learns pattern cutting can actually make clothes. You’ve only been learning for a few months, and you’re already designing and making your own styles. You’re ready to go pro!”
So… does this mean I’ve officially been certified by a professional seamstress? 😂
But honestly, I still feel like I have so much to learn. I even asked her to take me on as her apprentice. I’d be happy to pay tuition or help out with chores in exchange for learning.
But she firmly refused. She said I could already do it and didn’t need formal lessons anymore. If I ever ran into a problem, I could always ask her, and she’d be happy to share what she knows.
I asked her about the part I’d been stuck on, and with a few pointers from her, the mystery was finally solved. ✨🧵

帶狀皰疹，我們俗稱：生蛇，據說生成了一圈人就會死。
我們這裡有一種民俗療法，就是讓屬虎的人，或煞氣重的人，拿毛筆蘸墨汁在患者身上“捉蛇”。
我爸就有這個“特異功能”，幫很多人捉過😅--人家也真的康癒。
很奇怪，他完全不信中醫，也不信民俗療法的人...
百思不得其解
冷知识：带状疱疹，发现后最关键的是前72小时！
三个星期前，老妈得了带状疱疹。
她发现后立即去了医院，开了进口抗病毒药。同时，她还想起我前几年跟她说过的一个办法：补充维生素C。
之前有好几个亲戚得过带状疱疹，我当时查过不少资料，有人推荐大剂量补充VC。老妈一直记着，这次除了按医嘱吃药，也立即吃了VC。
如今她基本痊愈，不痒也不痛，没有留下明显症状。
带状疱疹可不是普通皮肤病。它是水痘病毒重新激活引起的，年龄越大、免疫功能越弱，风险越高。
最可怕的不是皮疹，而是带状疱疹后神经痛。有些人皮疹早就好了，神经痛却能持续几个月甚至几年，严重影响生活。
这里分享几个冷知识：
1 发现后尽快就医。 抗病毒药最好在发病早期、尤其皮疹出现后72小时内开始使用，越早越好。超过72小时也不要放弃就医。
2 大量补充VC。 我妈这次也吃了VC，VC有助于维持免疫系统的正常功能。我有朋友得了带状疱疹，没吃抗病毒药，只是大量补充VC，后来也痊愈了。
3 50岁以上尤其要注意预防。 美国CDC建议50岁及以上成年人接种两剂Shingrix带状疱疹疫苗。
