One of the first books, if not the first, that taught me programming. Or started to.

Hard to get a good shot but the sliver of moon between Venus and Jupiter tonight was quite something.

It's built and it works!! Added a motor from another set to automate it - but it has loads of details and whilst that large tower was repetitive it's also therapeutic! Including linking the 222 chain segments plus 33 conveyer ones to form the lift mechanism.

They get smaller... (0603). Hence the digital microscope for Christmas! And smaller 0402 (1mm x 0.5mm!). Gonna need a smaller soldering tip for those!
Been 20 years since I really did any electronics despite wanting to get back to it. Have a project in mind - but of course these days it's all surface mount. I'm told you can hand solder it. Got a practice kit (blame .@rmc47 ) and well yeah - this is the biggest size component.

Love how 4G, with half signal, is still double what I can get over the copper to my house (FTTC). Full fibre due within the next few weeks...
Of course as soon as I opened the pack to get one it popped out and jumped to the floor. It's now on the board. Really the most horrible solder joint but it connects according to the multi-meter and this is what the practice is for. Few more to go. Might miss the 0402s right side
