New surveillance video for #MonkeyIslandMonday! Strange man seen striding purposefully on Melee dock, ignoring the pelicans and bar as though he had somewhere to be, some devilish puzzle to solve... @grumpygamer have you seen this?

CBBC and BBC Four to end due to licence fee removal. BBC Bitesize will probably also go. CBBC is a bloody brilliant channel for kids and the Bitesize website is an awesome educational resource -

thinking about that time i was in a meeting with amazon engineers, and my co-workers asked "what's serverless"
i said "per-request, not per-instance billing" and there was an awkward silence like all the hype had been let out of the room

Biden knows what not being aligned with the EU would do to our economy, and that's all he's asking us to do.
Yet by leaving the EU in a way which rules out a deal with America, Boris Johnson is sacrificing trade with a total of HALF of the world economy.

Raas Ahsan (the genius behind IO tracing in Cats Effect) has written an incredibly in-depth explainer on concurrency in Cats Effect 3! typelevel.org/blog/2020/10/3…

When we write programs using IO, we are using an embedded DSL (the IO monad) which produces, as output, perfectly normal Scala data. That data can be manipulated using normal Scala. This is the win relative to imperative style, where the output of program construction is bytecode

We voted for a party whose main policy was to do something that the ENTIRE UK medical community said not to do... and you're surprised they can't handle a global health emergency?
What the hell did you expect?

Holy shit.
Imagine charging £12B for this level of shite. I'd be laughed out of the room if I suggested that for one of my projects a fraction of this scale.
Don't worry, it's fixed now. There are now multiple Excel sheets...

Reducing tech debt is normal overhead (or at least it should be). It's a red flag to even see that on a "roadmap," as if it's an extrodinary thing that has to be scheduled. That's a deep failure to grasp the concept.

A passport is only worth the rights it confers. It means nothing inside ones own country. This passport is weaker than the one it replaces, symbolising the removal of our rights to move and operate freely across our own continent. It therefore represents abject political failure.
Our new blue passports will be the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly British passports ever.
