ALT An image of Saturn taken by Voyager 2 shows the ringed planet set against the blackness of space. The planet is a sphere centered on the image, and the rings are angled from the top-left to the bottom-right. The planet is covered in white, red, purple, and yellow stripes, which are due to the fact that the image is a composite of three images taken with different filters. The rings appear as alternating stripes of black and yellow.

ALT An image of Neptune taken by Voyager 2 shows the deep blue planet set against the blackness of space. The planet is a sphere that takes up the majority of the image. It is primarily deep blue but has faint stripes of lighter and darker blue. A darker spot at the center of the planet surrounded by wispy white clouds is the "Great Dark Spot," a storm in Neptune's atmosphere.

ALT An artist’s concept shows the general locations of NASA’s two Voyager spacecraft at the time when Voyager 1 had crossed into interstellar space but while Voyager 2 was still within the solar system. The solar system is shown as a darker blue circle at the center of the image, and the Sun is represented by a yellow dot at the center. Around that circle is a larger gray-blue oval representing the heliosphere. The right edge of the oval isn't visible, as it extends off the right edge of the image. To the left of that oval is a yellow-orange curve, representing the solar wind that is interacting with the heliosphere as it travels throughout the galaxy. Models of the Voyager spacecraft are shown in their approximate locations, with Voyager 2 inside the gray-blue bubble and Voyager 1 just outside of it.
