Someone's on the @Raspberry_Pi blog this morning. There's educational merit in a Python-controlled, talking, missile-firing, Grinch, honest!

Wondering if these past paper videos make 50k views before tomorrow morning's exams... 🤔

I've posted some updated Higher software development videos. Stuff my class needed help with, but probably relevant to others.

doubled, from 16 to 31. That happened through coordinated, grassroots effort with CS teachers, universities and colleges working together. @stacshqplayed a direct role in that effort and continues to lead it, working with the teaching community rather than around it.

The headlines in today's The Times on the decline in Computing Science teachers in Scotland make for stark reading. Teacher recruitment is the biggest barrier to equitable access - but the numbers are the most visible symptom of a much wider system problem.

I've updated the past paper video channel I keep. I've added Q9 and Q10 to the 2025 N5 paper. I always feel a bit more comfy with Higher, but I've been making these for my own class.

1/3 The biggest barrier to equity of access in CS is recruitment. To see the subject thrive in every secondary school, we must address the teacher shortage. It's the single biggest hurdle to ensuring every pupil can study CS, regardless of their postcode.
📢 Help inspire the next generation of CS teachers!
We need to build a sustainable pipeline to ensure equity of access for pupils. Can your department host a prospective teacher for a 1–2 day observational visit?

If you work out what’s on my exams and then learn it - You’ve just learned the material, the whole point. Either way, I win!
I've updated the 2025 N5 and Higher playlists here. A bunch of other 2025 questions are scheduled to go live on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the next couple of weeks.

Really honoured to have been recognised in this years Alumni Awards! My time at Edinburgh Napier was so special. I left with more than a degree; it changed the trajectory of my life.
@EdNapierAlumni
An experiment - I've started going through the 2025 N5 and Higher papers in short format. I'll still do long format videos for the extended response questions.
Higher coming after N5. I'll set them to release in batches. @CompSciScot @stacshq

I've put them on the National 5 page of my revision site too.

My first attempt at long(ish) but still within visual-range FPV. Got about 10 minutes per battery on a 5 inch GEPRC quad.
