I’m thrilled to begin covering all things Texas Longhorns for the Austin American-Statesman. Big thank you to the @statesman crew for bringing me aboard.
Texas fans, please follow along and DM me to say hello! I'm here at DKR today, can’t wait to get started.
Arch Manning on tonight’s Peyton-esque touchdown run:
“Coach Sark just called it. We talked about it during the week, and we've had that play in all season. So it felt good, nobody was around.”
Manning said Sarkisian did not show him a clip of Peyton's TD vs. Dallas. Justin Cryer interjects "I love that video.”
Arch Manning said he “damn near bawled” with his family last Sunday.
Embraced his folks after tonight’s win. Much different vibe for Texas’ QB.
Steve Sarkisian explained why Arch Manning had to be exit the game for one play after this hit.
An independent medical examiner buzzed officials on the field and said Manning had to be removed for an evaluation. Sarkisian thought if it was ruled Manning was hit in the head, he could stay in the game.
Not the case.
Steve Sarkisian on the injuries to WR Cam Coleman and LT Trevor Goosby. Both exited and did not return tonight.
"Neither of them looked very good."
Steve Sarkisian’s opening statement:
“What an SEC football game that was. It never ceases to amaze me the quality of teams in our conference.”
That’s one of the worst throws of Arch Manning’s season. Among the most costly, too. Completely forced TE leak into triple coverage…
This was 24-3 Texas. It’s now 24-24.
Longhorns have no Cam Coleman and no Trevor Goosby, and they have 19 yards on 18 plays in the second half.
Cam Coleman is out of his uniform on the Texas sideline, btw. His night is over.

Here’s more on Cam Coleman’s exit. Went to the locker room after his shoulder injury, don’t see him on Texas’ sideline.

Texas has committed 11 penalties for 99 yards, hasn’t scored in either drive to start the second half and is now perhaps without its best offensive lineman and best wide receiver in a 24-17 game (that was 24-3).
Same-old-story developing?
Here’s more on Cam Coleman’s exit. Went to the locker room after his shoulder injury, don’t see him on Texas’ sideline.
