I teamed up with
@GeeksWF
to record this podcast on #wifi for #fishingcrew at sea. Why is it important? how 'easy' is it? what should be provided? what is happening currently? @GSA_Seafood have a listen bit.ly/3WiHoNR
It makes no sense to waste any #seafood - ethically, environmentally or financially. @OceanCluster can help you identify and optimise usage creating secondary yields with benefits for all. Get in touch! @EarthshotPrize
On recent visit to Iceland, I was impressed by the content of this wall diagram. Before the advent of throwaway consumerism most people saw the logic of the old saying “Waste not, want not.” #FAO Blue Transformation strategy calls for global fish loss & waste to be halved by 2030

A busy day for the #OceanPanel team in Paris. Conversations focused on priority objectives for the Panel over the next two years, including the UN Ocean Conference here in France in 2025.
I've been so fortunate to be at the heart of this project for the past 3yrs. I've learned and I'm in no doubt that #zerowaste is critical. Let's talk about achieving full utilisation in your seafood systems, farmed or wild.
The #NamibiaOceanCluster is officially launched, with a mission to maximize utilization of all #seafood harvest & reduce #SeafoodLoss. Learn how stakeholders in the #Namibian fishing industry worked with @wef's #OceanAction Agenda to innovate solutions! 🐟 weforum.org/friends-of-ocean…
Very pleased to share this report from @GSA_Seafood exploring #bestpractices and recommendations for provision of #WiFi to fishing crew at sea. Opportunity to provide feedback via the link @GeeksWF @integratedmntr @SWFPA @thaiuniongroup @KeyTraceability globalseafood.org/blog/wifi-…

On #IWD2024, let us recognise the many invisible and vulnerable #women in #foodsystems.
Let's increase investment in accelerating progress for women, strengthen policies, and harness technology to bridge the gap.

We join the call on remaining @WTO members to ratify the deal to end #HarmfulFisheriesSubsidies for entry into force as soon as possible: for the sake of the #ocean, fish, fishers & sustainable #fisheries. 🐟 The WTO's Ministerial Conference in February is a key milestone! #MC13
We are halfway there! 55 countries accepted the WTO’s 2022 #FisheriesSubsidies Agreement, paving the way for sustainable practices. We need 55 more by late February to make a positive impact on our oceans! More: bit.ly/3S3H9nJ
A new @FAOfish e-learning course on fish loss and waste. Full utilisation takes many routes to using all nutrition and maximising socio-economic value within environmental boundaries. It will become part of good management in time @FriendsofOcean @MSCecolabel @OceanCluster

Honoured to have this opportunity to speak at the UK Fisheries All Party Parliamentary Group next week. It is critical that #bluefoods are an embedded part of food systems strategies and dialogues @GSA_Seafood @fisheriesappg

Working with local partners, communities, businesses and governments, our shared purpose is to protect the diversity of life on Earth, for the survival of the planet and its people.
We are:
🌍 Protecting habitats
🌍 Reviving the ocean

The overwhelming opinion at this week’s Global Plastic Summit in Bangkok was that a UN treaty will be achieved by the end of 2024. This is good news for SDG14.1. But the big question is: how robust will the treaty will be? We must turn off the plastic tap flowing into the ocean!
