It's disappointing that the @MedBoardOfCA disciplinary rate continues to drop. This latest Annual Report has the rate down to 3.2%, along with a dramatic increase in complaints,

Crimes are committed in nursing homes everyday in this country. The criminals are "rarely" prosecuted. I have witnessed it for thirty years.

The new Axis powers? I asked @Orysiaua what she made of the idea being floated of a Trump-Putin-Xi trilateral (a meeting that would presumably exclude Ukraine and the EU). ⬇️ Clip below and full video in replies.

"Financial support" in no way indicates that needs are met.
About 13% of senior housing residents receive outside financial support from family members or through sources such as VA benefits, Medicaid, and long-term care insurance.

Age should never determine someone’s worth, opportunities, or ability to dream. Seniors still have goals to achieve, memories to make, love to give, and lives to LIVE. Our seniors aren’t done living. Let’s stop treating them like they are. Voicesforseniors.org

I first met journalist Dan Martin in Urumqi while we were both covering the 2009 unrests. So you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to reading his upcoming book, years in the making: WHERE THE RIVER DIES: THE TRAGIC STORY OF THE UYGHURS IN CHINA. Out January 2027.

Nice!
Thought you’d appreciate this. One of our residents at Oak Leaf is 96 years old and went hunting with his grandson this weekend. Pretty damn cool. This is the kind of stuff I love seeing in our communities. Just because someone moves into assisted living doesn’t mean they have to stop doing what they love.

This is actually no surprise since this administration has pardoned two major nursing home owners who were convicted of fraud. SNF owners are generous donors.
