We have some takeaways!
For two days, selected journalists in Plateau State participated in a collaborative training with @jhrnews.
Supported by @CanHCNigeria through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), this project empowered participants to move beyond identifying misinformation to practical verification steps and the tools needed for conflict reporting without escalation.
In their words, we cannot wait to see their reports going forward.

“I learned to verify what my sources tell me and try as much as possible not to spread misinformation.” Felicity Asibi Akwa, a participant said.
Establishing the credibility of information, even with limited resources, and preserving neutrality when reporting can be life-saving in polarised environments.
This is the important work we're doing with support from the @CanHCNigeria and in collaboration with @jhrnews.

No story is worth your life, true. But anyone who may be said to have truly lived must have something worth so much to them that they won't mind risking their life to preserve or to pursue it. For @fisayosoyombo, that thing is truth-seeking using the fishing rod of journalism.

In 2027, Nigerians will once again decide. But what happens to the IDPs who are far away from their homes and polling units?
HumAngle travelled to rural communities and town centres where IDPs are hosted.
Here is what we found and how it affects you.

Dangote Refinery is about to become everybody’s business.
Its IPO is expected to open within 10 to 12 days and target about $5 billion, potentially making it Africa’s largest public offering. It could give Nigerians direct ownership in a 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery.
But before investing, the prospectus must answer four questions:
• What valuation are investors paying?
• How much debt does the refinery carry?
• How stable are crude supply and refining margins?
• What are the dividend and minority shareholder terms?
The refinery can be historic and the shares can still be expensive. A great company only becomes a great investment at the right price.

Guys, when you are in a long-term relationship with a good woman, try everything you can to improve her. I don’t just mean with material things. Remember: “I even bought her IPhone and “Bone Straight” is for weak and inferior men. Yes, you will do those but they shouldn’t be your claim to fame.
Improve her professionally, academically (if she wants) and financially, and give her security. You will benefit from it more than you think.

Young people are not just consumers of information. They are powerful creators, sharers and influencers of online conversations.
But misinformation, disinformation and mal-information can fuel fear, division, hate speech and conflict.

To my mind, the bail conditions in the El-Rufai case are onerous and impractical. The salary of a Director on Grade Level 17 (including all possible allowances) is less than N10 million a year.
Unless they inherited it or owned it before they joined the Civil Service (unlikely!), any Director in the Civil Service who owns property in Asokoro or Maitama in his name, and comes forward to post bail for anybody at all, should be immediately arrested and asked to explain the source of their wealth. They probably will be too.
