1/5 I’ve been part of the MultiversX journey since the days when it was still called Elrond. I was staking directly through the wallet even before Maiar was launched.
From the very beginning, what stood out to me was the team, the technology, and the vision behind the project.

We’re building a live catalogue of revenue-multiplying use cases.
Real businesses. Real integrations. Better conversion. More revenue.
Turns out, making money move better is pretty good for business. Wild concept, right?
Every business moves money. Now, every business can move it faster, simpler, and more efficiently.
That’s what the Finance Computer makes possible. Today.

is just me or the #MultiversX marketing is from bad to worse as the days goes by.
I really can't understand how they promote or they show the new things. Horrible!
but it's just my opinion ..
Ok so should you be bullish on @MultiversX ?!
According to data on the @chainspect_app platform, MultiversX has hit a new all-time high in terms of weekly activity...
... after processing more than 230,000 transaction in the space of just one day.
At time of writing, the platform's native $EGLD token has a market cap of more than $100 million, but remains suppressed below former highs of nearly $8.7 billion.

⚡️ @MultiversX just hit a new TPS record
The network reached 21,798 TPS on September 24, setting a new peak for its throughput 👀
21K+ TPS is a serious benchmark for any blockchain

EGLD community had better be nonstop liking and retweeting and quote-posting and commenting on all the positive tweets about #EGLD and @MultiversX coming out of this potentially life-threatening exploit on the blockchain.
MultiversX went through it.
EGLD lives on. ✊

watching things work was always my quiet joy.
watching them work again is something else entirely.
the hardfork is done, all services are restored, and blocks are landing every 170ms.
huge thanks to everyone involved, especially to the hardcore team behind this critical operation.

Update:
Mainnet is back online.
All-clear for normal network activity.
The recovery upgrade has been deployed successfully, block production has resumed, and engineering has completed the recovery checks. You can resume using the network.
Exchange availability may differ. Trading, deposits and withdrawals may remain paused at some exchanges for a few more days while they complete their own reopening processes. Please check your exchange’s official updates before using these services.
We will continue monitoring the network and coordinating with our partners. A full technical incident report will explain what happened, how the recovery was carried out and the measures taken to address the issue.
We know this disruption and the wait have been difficult. Thank you to our community for your patience, your support and your belief in what we’re building together.
To the engineers, validators and partners who worked side by side to bring the network back online: thank you for your dedication.
We move forward together. We continue to build.
Update:
Mainnet restart upgrade v2.1.5.0 is now available. Validators are upgrading and synchronizing their nodes ahead of the coordinated restart.
Engineering’s review of yesterday’s logs confirmed that the recovery hard fork completed successfully, including Shard 1 blocks being confirmed by the metachain. However, Shard 1 did not have sufficient consensus votes to sustain block production. The recovery hard fork does not need to be repeated. This clarifies our initial assessment of yesterday’s attempt.
The new release improves synchronization for nodes still catching up. Today’s preparation window gives validators more time to bring their nodes online and synchronize, with the focus on establishing sufficient validator readiness across every shard.
We currently estimate that Mainnet will resume block production at approximately 15:30 UTC today, Thursday, September 24, subject to validator readiness and successful completion of the restart.
A separate all-clear will be issued for users. Until then, please do not submit or rebroadcast transactions, or use EGLD and ESDT deposit and withdrawal routes through exchanges or bridges.
We know yesterday’s setback made an already difficult wait harder. Thank you for your continued patience, and to the validators and partners working alongside us to bring the network back online.

unhinged history from validators. this is the reality. it is all about zeros and ones.
in the meantime the devnet hardfork rehearsal is happening.
last step before mainnet.
and coordination is via the telegram channel with validators and separately with exchanges and integrators.
There’s a lot of talk right now about MultiversX downtime, off-switches, first halt, all of it.
Fine. Let’s go through what actually happened since launch, six years ago, from a validator’s chair.
I’ve run a node since day one. Before it was MultiversX. When the chain was still Elrond. You remember the weekends more than the marketing. The nights Telegram lights up. That’s the job.
People talk this week like the chain never broke before, or like someone pressed a button on my servers. Neither is true.
December 2021 — RIDE
Nobody asked us to stop nodes. The chain kept making blocks. Listing traffic, bots, timeouts. Unusable for hours. Congestion.
Consensus downtime: none. I didn’t reboot the server.

VM bug. executeOnDestContextByCaller in a callback. Same shard. ~1.65M EGLD out of the wrap contracts, dumped on Maiar.
They paused DEX, WEGLD swap, bridge, public API send. Not the chain. The report says the blockchain was never turned off. Own API still worked. In-place upgrade, most nodes on the new binary in ~30 min. Users made whole.
Consensus downtime: none. Apps dark ~2 days.

multiversx.com/blog/sc-bug-i…
First real consensus halt.
transferValueAndExecute. Missing check. Huge wrapped USDC credit, then USDT. They called verified / red-line operators, community delegation, 25+ SPs. Enough to break 66%. Quorum died. Patch v1.8.13.0. Back in 2h30. 99.999% recovered. No users directly affected.
I wasn’t on that call. If you weren’t in that group you just watched it stall.
Consensus downtime: 2h30.

teapawt.org/MultiversX/status/2101…
Same idea, bigger.
VM atomicity. Invalid state already on chain. Official line: order-of-operations on an edge case. This time they asked everyone to keep mainnet nodes down. Hard fork from a checkpoint. That’s why it’s days, not two hours.
I stopped my own nodes after the announcement. Nobody flipped a switch on my servers. I can still refuse the upgrade. PublicKeyToListenFrom in my config.toml is empty. I never cleared it.
Should be back this afternoon. Call it ~4 days. ~96h.
The map
2021 RIDE: consensus 0
2022: consensus 0, apps ~2 days
2025: 2h30
2026: ~96h, restart this afternoon
SLA since launch:
Since genesis (July 2020.) : ~98.5h down → about 99.82% uptime.
Since 1 Jan 2026: only this one → about 98.5% this year.
We’ve had incidents. We’ve had downtime. This is just the first time it stayed down more than a few hours. Not a fairy tale about a button.
Those are the facts.

The recovery hard fork has been completed successfully on public Testnet.
A different kind of weekly update 🌍
On Sep 19, an attempt to exploit a VM-level issue caused invalid state changes, and network progression was paused to protect users.
What happened:
🔍 An actor exploited a VM-level atomicity issue; a fix was prepared the same day
🧩 The root cause: an order-of-operations mistake in edge cases, contained fast thanks to the validators' rapid response
Where things stand:
🛡 The incident is contained; the attacker's accounts have been identified and frozen with major exchanges, and law enforcement is engaged
🔧 Recovery will be a coordinated hard fork from a known-good checkpoint, rehearsed on Testnet and Devnet with validators first
⚙️ The code is ready and public, and testing is ongoing
⏸️ Until the all-clear: don't submit or rebroadcast transactions, and don't use EGLD/ESDT deposit and withdrawal routes on exchanges or bridges. Exchanges and bridges will reopen in stages after the restart.
A full technical incident report will follow.
Thank you to the validators, partners and everyone who stood with the network this week. Our regular recap returns once the network is back, with two weeks of building to catch up on.

Solid progress made securing the situation.
1. The incident is contained.
Fund are safe. In coordination with major global exchanges, the attacker’s accounts have been identified, seized and frozen. Specialized law enforcement is now engaged, and the attacker will face the consequences of his actions.
2. The fix is prepared.
The team has defined the mission-critical path to recovery. It is now being rigorously tested and, once cleared, will be executed over the next 1–2 days.
This is a moment to stand together.
Supernova speed and experience return to full force soon.
Forward.
Yesterday, around midnight EST, we detected a VM-related security incident unfolding on the MultiversX network.
First priority, executed. The attacker has been fully contained and the immediate threat has been neutralized. We are actively coordinating with the relevant law enforcement agencies as the investigation moves forward.
Second priority, unfolding. Our team is now focused on defining and executing a mission-critical recovery path. We expect this process to unfold carefully over the next few days, with the security of users as our highest priority.
Third priority. A full security report will follow once the investigation is complete and we have established all relevant facts.
We will continue to share updates as soon as the definitive recovery steps are ready to be executed.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and standing with us through this.

Update:
Mainnet remains paused while the coordinated recovery is prepared and tested.
We have prepared the protocol correction and is now packaging it into the recovery release. Recovery will be performed through a coordinated hard fork, restarting the network from a known-good checkpoint preceding the incident-related invalid state changes.
Earlier today, the recovery plan was reviewed with validators. Their operational feedback is being incorporated into the final procedure.
The next steps are to:
• finalize the recovery release, checkpoint data and verification material;
• rehearse the complete procedure on Testnet and then with validators on Devnet;
• provide validators with the official release and a single coordinated restart procedure;
• confirm validator, exchange and infrastructure readiness before resuming Mainnet.
Mainnet recovery will proceed only after the rehearsals pass and the required readiness is confirmed.
Records from the incident-affected interval are being preserved for audit, transaction classification and reconciliation.
The resumption of block production will not automatically mean that every exchange, bridge or protocol is ready to reopen. These services will resume separately and in stages after completing their own verification and reconciliation.
No action is required from users at this stage beyond waiting for the all-clear. Please do not submit or rebroadcast transactions, or use EGLD and ESDT deposit and withdrawal routes through exchanges or bridges.
We will communicate again when the recovery package has passed validation and the coordinated Mainnet restart is ready. A full technical incident report will follow once recovery and reconciliation are complete.

A few notes, only for some crypto people.
If you’re not in crypto, please keep scrolling. Nothing to see here.
1. Is Supernova live and delivered?
YES. After years of work, it’s live. It works. It’s delivered.
2. Does this change your life?
Yes and no. Yes, if you’re building something cool and know how to find users.
No, if you're not looking to building anything.
3. Does the Finance Computer use MultiversX?
YES. Does it use EGLD? Yes.
4. Is the Finance Computer a product for crypto people? Another thing for crypto people to generously bless with their omniscient wisdom?
No. It’s not built for crypto people.
Their omniscient wisdom, fortunately, doesn’t apply here. :)
5. Will the Finance Computer spend every day talking about crypto?
No. Plain and simple.
This is a distinct B2B distribution product.
It targets businesses, not crypto users. It speaks their language, solves their problems, and focuses on delivering a service they actually want to use. Less explaining crypto. More of making money actually work better.
6. Now that Supernova is live, will there be new use cases?
YES. That’s precisely the point.
The Finance Computer is a new interface for bringing these capabilities into the real world.
Different audience. Different language. Different distribution. Same underlying rails.
7. Will there be announcements and partnerships?
YES.
8. When when when, sirs? Can we have everything today?
No. Not everything today.
During next week and September, we’ll start sharing the first business use cases. Something merchants and companies can use in a simple way. Beyond that, we’ll have some focused workshops around what the Finance Computer can actually unlock for businesses.
Simple language. Clear benefits. Clear next steps. Use cases businesses can use today.
9. Do we have strategic use cases that validate the Finance Computer and meaningfully accelerate momentum?
YES. Some very interesting ones. That is the entire point of the finance computer. Let those be cooked. We announce them when they are shipped, or just ready.
10. So when do we get all the information?
At the right time. What I can say is this: this quarter will be defining for both the Finance Computer and MultiversX from a business adoption and real-world use case standpoint.
We have shipped a massive infrastructure upgrade, with a completely new interface, that speaks a different language for the business world. Taking that further is the focus now. Crawl, walk, run.
11. Isn't it unprofessional or impolite to block trolls who fill my posts and timeline with NPC rubbish?
No. We worked for two years on Supernova. Actually, much longer. We set out to deliver an extremely difficult technical milestone, and we delivered it.
Together with the entire team, I am very proud of that milestone. We now stand at the very frontier of performance, on the right ground, with a clear suite of money services ready for the business world.
So yes, trolls will disappear from my timeline. Better for everyone that way. In computer science, we have a technical term for this. It’s called garbage collection. Works surprisingly well, highly recommended. :)
12. Are we here to solve all the world's problems?
No. We’re here to build a great product and deliver it.
Take what is useful. Build on it. Adapt it. Move forward. That’s it.
13. But but but, isn’t this supposed to be for everyone?
No. Not everything needs to be for everyone.
What we are building stands for something specific. A better way of accessing, moving and programming money. If it resonates with you, and you need it, great. Come build, use it, contribute, push it forward. If it doesn’t, also great. Life is short. Find something else that does.
14. One final thing.
Crypto, generally, has gotten so toxic that it feels more and more like an autoimmune disease, the body eating itself from the inside. We are in the process of treating that toxicity. Changing the focus, applying more effort on money used in the real world, communicating to the right distribution target, and spending less time on things that are clearly misaligned.
Simple steps can go a long way. That’s the direction.
/end of professional rant :)
—------
Ps. That said, for the rest of the cool people here, the Finance Computer makes things simple for real world money movement adoption. It abstracts rocket science technology, and makes things just work.
Next week we are sharing some simple use cases that enable businesses to take this product and use it. It also enables you as an individual to find businesses you are close to, or love, deliver this to them, and potentially make some money as they adopt it.
Anyway. With these milestones delivered, and the new Finance Computer unveiled, we have officially entered the adoption phase.

Trading has resumed on the MEX/EGLD, MEX/USH and MEX/USDC pairs following coordinated recovery work with Hatom. Hatom has confirmed that user funds remain safe. xExchange users do not need to take any action.
On Sunday evening, Hatom contacted xExchange after investigating concentrated MEX buying and a sharp price rise over a short period. Based on the full onchain sequence and the economics of the positions, Hatom concluded that this was a deliberate attempt to exploit its MEX money market—not ordinary trading activity. According to its analysis, MEX was repeatedly bought and deposited as collateral, enabling further borrowing as the price used to value that collateral increased. The trades incurred slippage losses while the borrowing position became less healthy. Hatom concluded that the route to profit depended on borrowing against an inflated collateral valuation, not on trading gains.
Hatom's analysis also showed that allowing the activity to continue would have put its money market at risk of bad debt and user losses. Because liquidity in the affected xExchange pools was thin relative to the size of the position, liquidation would likely have triggered large automatic MEX sales, severe slippage and a disorderly price decline. This would have materially harmed xExchange users exposed through MEX and the MEX/EGLD, MEX/USH and MEX/USDC pools.
xExchange believes in open markets. We would not pause trading to shield a protocol from normal market outcomes or to defend a token price. Temporarily pausing markets is an extraordinary measure. In this case, the evidence presented by Hatom showed a malicious cross-protocol attack with severe downstream consequences for users. In our assessment, and that of the independent experts consulted, the risk warranted temporary intervention to protect users while Hatom contained and unwound the attack.
Only the MEX/EGLD, MEX/USH and MEX/USDC pairs were paused. All other xExchange pairs and the rest of xExchange's frontend and API functionality remained available. The affected pairs were reopened after Hatom confirmed that the attacker-driven positions had been removed and it was safe to proceed.
We are grateful to everyone who helped assess the risk and safely restore normal operations.
Hatom has moved separately to compensate users affected on its money market and will publish its detailed incident report and recovery accounting. We will also use the lessons from this incident to strengthen escalation contacts and joint-response processes across the ecosystem.
Thank you for your support.

🔥 JUST IN: @MultiversX activates Supernova on mainnet today, moving transaction execution outside the consensus critical path on a sharded network that has operated since 2020.
Supernova targets a 600 millisecond block interval, down from six seconds, while retaining deterministic transaction ordering and the existing minimum validator hardware requirements across more than 3,200 validator nodes.
The change creates a more responsive base for payments, markets, and programmable financial services.
