there's just so much humility and grace in the way lando has approached passing the number 1 on to kimi. throughout the season, he's never missed an opportunity to praise him and yesterday was no different, saying he couldn't think of anyone more deserving. he's already gone back to signing with his number 4 out of respect, because as he said himself, it would feel weird to keep the number 1 once someone else had won it, even though it's technically his until the end of the season. he wears the title of world champion just as well as he earned it 🤍

"what other words do you have for kimi now?" lando: "i just hope he has a good time. i hope he has fun. i hope he enjoys every single second because it really is the most special feeling. i had to fight for many more years to try and achieve it, but it's much more impressive what he's done to go in his second year in F1. at 20 years old, to achieve what he did this year is amazing"

lando's title defense hasn't gone the way we hoped, but he's still driven an incredible season in a car that's been notoriously difficult to drive and hasn't always had the pace to fight at the front!! 17 race weekends affected by issues, 1 dns and 3 dnfs, and yet he still managed to put together 3 poles and 2 wins. he's pulled some incredible performances out of a car that hasn't made things easy for him, and that deserves so much more recognition. so much of this season was out of his hands, and that shouldn't take away from what he's achieved. we still have a few races left, so let's enjoy them with LN1 while we can. see you soon, number 1 🤍
