Connoissance de la Mythologie - Eighth Edition, Angers, France 1780, by Anonymous (likley edited by Alletz Pons Augustin and / or Francois Xavier Rigourd. Enlarged with historical accounts that served as the foundation for the entire system of mythology, together with a convenient reference table for readers. The spelling Connoissance rather than the modern Connaissance is characteristic of older French usage. The title page reads: À Angers, de l'Imprimerie Nationale, chez Mame, Imprimeur du Département. The references to a national printing establishment and a departmental printer strongly suggest a French Revolutionary-era imprint. In my photograph of pages 220–221 the text is discussing Theseus, Aegeus, Medea, Minos, and the Minotaur. It describes how Medea attempted to poison Theseus, how Aegeus recognized his son, and how Athens became subject to the tribute demanded by Minos of Crete. Then the catechism-style instruction begins: D. Quel étoit ce tribut? & à quelle occasion fut-il exigé? Question: What was this tribute, and under what circumstances was it demanded? R. Les Athéniens & ceux de Mégare... Answer: The Athenians and the people of Megara... The text proceeds to explain the myth of the young men and women sent to Crete to be devoured by the Minotaur in the labyrinth. The Greek gods, heroes, and mythological narratives discussed in this book eventually became part of the symbolic vocabulary used by nineteenth-century occultists. For example, Theseus's labyrinth can be interpreted as a metaphor for initiation, while figures such as Hermes, Hecate, and Dionysus became important within later esoteric systems.

Jacobus Perizonius - Aegyptiarum Originum et Temporum Antiquissimorum Investigatio (1711) This is an original 1711 Latin scholarly work on ancient Egyptian origins, chronology, and historical traditions, published in Leiden, Netherlands. It's 315 years old: An Investigation into the Origins of the Egyptians and the Most Ancient Times PublisherJohannes van der Linden the Younger PlaceLeiden (Lugdunum Batavorum) Date1711 — MDCCXI LanguageLatin BindingOld leather spine with marbled-paper boards The title page explicitly names several historians whose theories Perizonius intended to challenge. This book was an argument about how ancient history should be reconstructed from conflicting sources. Perizonius was a respected Dutch classical scholar associated with the University of Leiden. He lived during a period when European scholars were trying to reconstruct the earliest civilizations using biblical chronology, Greek and Roman historians, and surviving ancient traditions. His book examines questions such as: - How old was Egyptian civilization? - Which Egyptian dynasties actually existed, and when? - How reliable were the Greek accounts of Egyptian history? - Could Egyptian chronology be reconciled with biblical history? - Who built the pyramids, and in which historical period? One of the photographis is CHAPTER XXI — THE PYRAMIDS The chapter begins: "Pyramides quando & a quibus exstructae fuerint, incertum ex profanis scriptoribus." Translation: "When and by whom the pyramids were constructed is uncertain from the accounts of secular writers." Perizonius then examines the contradictory claims of ancient authors, including Josephus and Manetho. He even discusses the ancient tradition that the Israelites were responsible for constructing pyramids. Perizonius was therefore attempting to reconstruct Egyptian history without the ability to read the Egyptian inscriptions themselves. In the Renaissance, Egypt was frequently imagined as the birthplace of primordial wisdom. The writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus were believed by many to preserve extraordinarily ancient theological and philosophical knowledge. By Perizonius's time, that picture was changing. Isaac Casaubon had already demonstrated in 1614 that the Greek Hermetic writings were much later than Renaissance thinkers had supposed. Perizonius belonged to the broader intellectual movement that increasingly subjected ancient traditions to critical historical examination.

Samuel Christian Hollmann - Überzeugender Vortrag von Gott und der Schrift (1748). Its author was a philosopher and natural scientist who investigated religion, physics, anatomy, electricity and natural history. My copy is nearly 280 years old. TranslationApproximately A Convincing Exposition of God and Scripture PublisherJohann Friedrich Gleditsch PlaceLeipzig, Germany Year1748 FormatOctavo, approximately 517 pages plus register BindingFull brown calf, five raised spine bands, gilt decoration IllustrationEngraved frontispiece depicting Adam in Eden. Hollmann was working during the German Enlightenment, when scholars were attempting to reconcile Christian theology with rational philosophy, observation and emerging scientific methods. My photographed page 121 is from a section titled Daß ein Gott sey: “That God Exists.” It uses anatomical observations about blood circulation, the heart, arteries and lungs to support an argument about divine design. In other words, Hollmann is using the complexity and organization of the human body as evidence of an intelligent creator. This is a form of natural theology, attempting to establish religious truths through reason and observations of nature.

According to grok: "As of October 23, 2026, there are no publicly confirmed successful compromises or mass breaches from the recent PHP vulnerabilities (PHP2Shell), despite millions of exploitation attempts."

I've been searching for the place where the people are smart, competent, act with integrity, maintain consistent values and acknowledge when things get fuzzy for them, have high agency and impact. People I can trust and learn from. A purpose to serve. I've tried government agencies, aerospace, the military, big tech, medical, hedge funds and finance, academia, scientific institutions and I have not found it. I've tried every spiritual and religious tradition you can imagine and I've not found it. I have found individuals here and there, amazing people, true lights, but not a group or organization. Perhaps it exists and its its me that's not ready yet.

Everything has been hacked all the time for at least 20 years but because of the nature of the hackers, most people were unaware. (I mean everything) Now the bar has moved and the nature of the hackers is different and suddenly everyone is becoming aware that things are hacked and it’s disconcerting.

"The smoking gun appears. Two requests from 91.90.123.25 with User-Agent php2shell-verify/1.0 at 17:55 Oct 21 — an active, targeted probe for this exact vulnerability, both returning 200 against / and /index.php. Also PHP arg-injection attempts (auto_prepend_file=php://input) from multiple scanners. Critically, your memory_limit=-1 is already set — that's the primary mitigation for CVE-2026-109618, so exploitation likely failed. But I need to confirm PHP didn't crash and what the error log shows around that probe."

"Direct attack evidence — found but DID NOT land: - At 17:55:09–17:55:11 Oct 21, IP 91.90.123.25 sent a five-request burst with User-Agent "php2shell-verify/1.0" targeting /, /index.php, /vuln.php — an active targeted scanner for this exact vuln (that UA is the standardized PHP2Shell verifier). GETs to / and /index.php returned 200; /vuln.php 404; POSTs also 200. - Dozens of other scanners probed php filter/arg-injection (auto_prepend_file=php://input, cgi.force_redirect, libredtail-http traversal hits). - This is exactly what an exploited/pre-attack PHP2Shell compromise looks like in the logs — attackers DO hit the site. But nothing succeeded. Why the exploit did NOT succeed (evidence): 1. memory_limit=-1 (already set) = the primary mitigation for CVE-2026-109618 (the OOM corruption). The confirmed mod_php exploit requires a controllable per-request memory limit to trigger OOM at the right moment. With -1, that specific path is removed. Post_max_size=8M bound the request surface. 2. Zero PHP crashes. The only errors near the probe are normal header.php notices ("Undefined index", "session already started"). No "Allowed memory size exhausted", no segfault, no core dumps (/var/crash, /var/lib/systemd/coredump empty). 3. Worker continuity. Worker PIDs 1600248–1600252 served requests both before and after the probe. An OOM- or use-after-free-triggered exploit (or a successful stale-state hit) generally corrupts/kills the worker or forces a reset. No worker churn around the probe = the memory stayed intact. 4. Apache cleanly shut down 18:07:22 (systemd "Succeeded", no crash). "
