Así fue como todo inició para mí
Gamers today click "Install," wait a little while, and then hit the "Play Game" button. Technical skill required: zero. Gamers in the 1990s needed a PhD in computer science, mastery of hardware and software configuration, willpower, patience, BIOS knowledge, boot disks, base memory management skills, and insane amounts of trial and error - just to run a single game. Show this to anyone under 35 and they'll think you were a wizard... and maybe you were!

My prediction for software engineering over the next 3 to 5 years. AI won't replace software engineers. It'll drive even greater demand for them. A team of 5 experienced engineers using AI will outperform a team of 20 pre-AI. Which will dramatically reduce the cost of building software. I think we'll see Jevons paradox in action. As something becomes cheaper and more efficient to produce, demand for it can increase dramatically. Thousands of software projects that previously weren't economically viable will become worth doing. The winners will be companies, big and small, that behave like Google, Amazon and 3M, with a culture of experimentation, a willingness to try lots of ideas and the discipline to kill their darlings. TL/DR: Smaller engineering teams, more innovation, more software products, and potentially more software engineers than ever. What do you think?

Replying to @Suhail
I’ve heard several OAI people say there are unfixable bugs in hardware that are exploitable by AI models directly speaking machine code so even if we could solve software that’s not enough. We need defense to move faster than offense if that’s even possible we may just have a new normal that requires adapting to insecure software (bank transfers require going into a branch and taking a dna test 🤣😬)

El clásico nobody got fired for buying IBM
The exploits of the last few days are a good reminder of why we use SaaS. Our company pays for ~20 SaaS services. If we self-hosted them, we’d now be responsible for all of the security patches this week. Instead, our small monthly bill pays for their teams to handle everything.

This might sound crazy. But one of the skills you NEED to learn is how to deal with a more and more illiterate society full of emotionally dysregulated people. If you keep getting frustrated every day over how "ďumb" everything/everyone seems, the stress of it is going to wreck your mind.

3% of “critical” software security bugs, in all of recorded history, have been found in the last month. This is on pace to find another ~100,000 bugs this year alone, adding ~26% more vulnerabilities to the all time total Do you realize how fucking insane that is?

🚨 BREAKING: NOW JAVA IS FACING A CRITICAL SECURITY EMERGENCY. Oracle has issued an OUT-OF-BAND security alert for a dangerous 9.1/10 vulnerability affecting Java and GraalVM. And the most alarming part? Hackers could exploit vulnerable applications REMOTELY, without a password or ANY user interaction. Here's what's happening: → CRITICAL 9.1/10 FLAW: CVE-2026-91403 affects Java's JSSE security component. → NO LOGIN REQUIRED: Attackers could potentially exploit vulnerable applications remotely without authentication. → SENSITIVE DATA AT RISK: Successful attacks could expose, modify, or delete critical application data. → MULTIPLE JAVA VERSIONS AFFECTED: Oracle lists affected releases across Java 8, 11, 17, 21, 25, and 27. → GRAALVM ALSO AFFECTED: Oracle confirms the vulnerability impacts multiple GraalVM releases. → EMERGENCY PATCH ALERT: Oracle released an urgent security update rather than waiting for its next scheduled patch cycle. The list of critical vulnerabilities just keeps growing. If you operate Java applications or servers, CHECK YOUR SECURITY UPDATES NOW.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
CVE-2026-91403 is a JSSE certificate trust issue with eight compromised eMudhra intermediates having weak keys, enabling potential MITM on TLS if attacker intercepts traffic—not a direct remote exploit of Java apps or servers. oracle.com/security-alert… openjdk.org/groups/vulnera… bnowakowski.pl/psa-java-cve-2…

We’re about to learn that most code written over the last 20 years was complete slop and most software developers were never that good

Explaining to my wife how there's this one guy. And he alone is responsible for most of the world's distribution of PHP. And if anything happens to this guy, that's just it. Everyone is screwed.
