Unsure whether or not I'll be hanging around here much longer (updates only at most), so here's a friendly nudge that you can find me posting peacefully over on the gram some days @ mxrileyaugust π
I post pictures of my cat and other neat things I see!

There is no tweet well composed enough to express what I feel right now. For everyone hurting, I'm with you. For everyone wondering if hope for humanity is a worthwhile cause, I'm with you. Try to stay strong.

It's official: The Teller of Small Fortunes is now out in the US & the UK! From a blank Google doc 2+ years ago, to a real life physical book (and ebook, and audiobook!) available on bookstore shelves near you -- it's been one heck of a journey.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the event last night, and to my amazing conversation partner (and new friend!) @ryfkah and to @HarvardBooks for hosting us! Meeting fans of Last Gifts and new readers both was such an amazing experience -- I'll treasure this always.π
Big thanks to Paul for the interview! I had a great time with this one. Check it out for a peek at some of Last Gifts' more unconventional inspirations, my thoughts on a video game adaptation, and one or two hints about what I'm working on next! Also inside: a picture of my cat!
Some people look for meaning at the bottom of a bottle. But in the lighthearted #SciFi novel "The Last Gifts Of The Universe," Scout tries to find it by flying around the galaxy. To explain why, check out this interview with author Riley August.

I was really excited to share Last Gifts' publishing journey with Writer's Digest! Inside I talk about how I ended up self-publishing, the amazing #SPSFC (#SPSFC4 happening now!), and how I ended up getting a traditional book deal.
After a decade of rejection, author Riley August shares how their decision to bet on their writing paid off in unexpected ways and a traditional book deal.
