They don't want you to know that one of the most important reasons Star Wars became huge is because it was a very weird property made by a very weird dude. Its idiosyncrasies have become absorbed by popular culture but it being so bizarre on release is why it was special

The Marvelization of Star Wars, with styleless directors hired to make soulless, purely commercial movies, really bothers me. The people running this franchise are completely disconnected from what fans want.
Jon Watts is set to direct ‘STAR WARS: EPISODE 10’.
The film is planned as the beginning of a new trilogy in the Skywalker Saga.

People are going to lose their minds over Lucasfilm starting another Skywalker trilogy after explicitly marketing The Rise of Skywalker as the definitive end of the saga, but honestly, Jon Watts isn't even the most insane part of this report.
The fact that Simon Kinberg is writing the whole foundation of Episode 10 when he penned X-Men: The Last Stand, Dark Phoenix, and Fantastic Four (2015) is a far wilder gamble.
Watts is at least a studio workman who delivered three massive $1B+ Spider-Man hits without crashing the ship. Handing the narrative keys of Star Wars' entire future to the guy responsible for ruining the Dark Phoenix saga twice is where the actual alarm bells should be ringing.

My favorite little detail in the first Dissidia game is how the little pre-rendered sequences before a character's story mode boss fight usually had a shot that deliberately recreated recognizable keyart from the respective FF protagnist's game. Really cool stuff.
