it's a stunt to sell the base Roadster. still very cool
Okay, I'll bite: what is the use case, here? The market other than James Bond? People are acting like it's a game-changing breakthrough. How is a car that recovers from inverted backflips anything beyond a novelty or stunt?

New portfolio is live (!!) 15 years in design in New York, compressed into 8 chapters. Less a collection of case studies, more a career told as lived experience. You're looking at the eight things that shaped the space between who I am and what I like, make, and care about. They just happen to be represented with gummies instead of company logos. Honestly, this site is just an excuse to share a collection of personal stories because I enjoy writing. Each chapter breaks down into what I expected, what I found, what followed (The Premise, The Reality, The Plot). It's equal parts reflection, advice, and a look at some things built along the way.

The new DESK is live! For over 15+ years I've been writing, reflections on design, psychology and building products. Over those years I published close to 1000 articles. Today I'm re-launching DESK as a personal archive of these essays, with the goal to keep writing till the very last day. Why the re-design? The old design felt too magazine like, too much like a publication that was trying to be something that it's not. It was holding me back to be more myself. The new design is more personal, more like an archive or register of all my essays. There are currently 688 essays accessible on the new DESK, many more still hidden and coming in the next couple days. I hope you like it (:

I built something we realized we needed when my son wanted to go to Sweden to study. He’s a dual citizen but grew up in the U.S., so we had to figure out how to convert grades, research schools, find programs, understand the application process, and much more. So we built Odin at viaodin.com. We call it a research beta. It’s live, very much a work in progress, and we have about 15 customers using it right now. This was not easy. We built a database that connects to all universities in Sweden, pulls from official Swedish resources, integrates QS rankings with other ranking systems, and much more. But it has been addictive and so much fun. It’s not the best-designed site yet, and that’s fine. We started with the content, data, architecture, and business model. We started in Lovable because it’s so fast to get to a design feel, then connected everything to GitHub and moved over to Cursor, where we spent most of our time. A few days ago, I switched over to Codex. Take it for a spin and let me know what makes sense, what needs work, or anything else you notice. The locked state is quite boring right now, so that’s one of the things we’re working on.

So far I’ve observed that everyone who made it big, lost everything before making it
