Grateful to see our Parkinson’s research at the University of South Dakota featured in the Press & Dakotan. We’re studying individualized, EEG-guided TMS to target brain rhythms linked to gait and balance difficulties. Thanks to our participants, team, and funders!
Vey excited that this paper is our – briefly, we show that 4 Hz STN DBS has the potential to improve cognitive control in PD patients with cognitive impairment, and the most dysfunctional 4 Hz activity.

Small pilot study (n=17) conducted by @narayananlab & collaborators suggests that 4 Hz subthalamic nucleus stimulation can improve performance in people with #Parkinsons with cognitive impairments (compared to DBS OFF or ~130 Hz STN DBS)

Congrats to the @aldridge_lab on getting this important methods paper out!
congrats to Hannah Stutt on defending her PhD on dorsal striatal dopamine and timing. Next step: on to awesome postdoctoral work!

Credits go to my world-class team. I am especially grateful to my mentors who inspired and supported/funded my academic curiosity.
Our goal remains: to bridge the gap to human studies and better understand the link between neurophysiology and subjective experience ❤️
Excited to share our latest paper in @TheJournal_Pain, led by my dear friend @oliverflouty (@USouthFlorida)!

Using #ECoG in 4 sheep, we explored supraspinal effects of high-frequency #spinalcordstimulation—revealing region- and frequency-specific modulatory patterns. Congrats to the whole team! @VBharmauria17 @NourShaheen_MD

We show that corticostriatal ramping activity can't readily be explained by movements using motion tracking, and that ramping can't readily be explained by reward anticipation in mice performing timing and Pavlovian tasks.
