Our crews will continue to support storm restoration efforts in the southeast by heading to #Florida to assist in preparation for #HurricaneMilton, which is expected to make landfall this week.
Since September 28, our 160 upstate New York and 50 Massachusetts crew members have been supporting restoration efforts after #HurricaneHelene brought extensive damage to West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Our upstate New York team will now head to Florida to support @DukeEnergy, and our Massachusetts team will support @TampaElectric.
We're proud to join other utilities across the country and Canada to assist the communities impacted by the damaging storms.

Massachusetts customers: Our crews are prepared for Tropical Cyclone Debby to impact the region Friday through Saturday evening, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusting winds.
The safety of our customers, communities, and crews is the top priority during any power restoration process. Our crews will begin the restoration process when it is deemed safe to conduct work. For example, it is not safe to work in an elevated bucket during periods of increased wind gusts.
We will continue to monitor the weather and customers should stay connected by reporting power outages at nationalgridus.com (or calling 1-800-465-1212) and tracking outages & estimated restoration times at nationalgridus.com/outage-ce….

Scams are on the rise! We've seen an increase in reports of utility imposter scams where someone claiming to be from National Grid is calling and asking for immediate payment to avoid disconnection. For your protection, remember, we will never:
🚫 Ask for payments using pre-paid debit cards, gift cards, cryptocurrencies, or third-party digital payment mobile applications
🚫 Threaten service interruptions without providing multiple notices
If you suspect a scam, please contact us and local law enforcement authorities. For more information, visit ngrid.com/scam

As the temperature increases, use these tips to beat the heat & stay safe:
🔄 To maximize the cooling effect of an air conditioning system, run fans to create a wind-chill effect to distribute and circulate cold air throughout a room.
👉 Keep your window coverings closed to reduce the sun's heating of your home.
➡️ Know the signs of heat-related illness: Heavy sweating, muscle cramps and a fast pulse are symptoms of heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
