The AI social contract mandates it.
We are going to drive cost per task to zero. We will not allow a duopoly to tax humanity on intelligence. We trained on humanity’s data, the least we could do is give back and let everyone prosper.

Sovereign compute / AI stack is a certainty for those (countries / companies / individuals) who have the energy and financial resources.

AI-native security firms just added another billion to their valuation. The threat is real. It's going to be 24/7 defender swarms + attackers.
My conviction is growing that the next black swan event will be centered around this idea.

My conviction is growing that the next black swan event will be centered around this idea.
Vulnerabilities in human architected infrastructure (physical and digital domains) are probably in the top five threats that we are living through right now. All of these isolated events will compound and accelerate the loss of trust, which is also in the top five risks we face as a species, living with modern comforts.

Yes.
Millions of IoT devices, Docker containers, forgotten Linux machines, unmaintained CLI tools, etc. are all going to be relentlessly hacked via safely signed malware for the next several years or maybe indefinitely. eMudhra hack might be the most important event of the year.

Gains on productivity have limits. --> You can only optimize household finances so much --> You can only optimize a portfolio so much Capped benefits. Gains on entertainment have none. --> New content is created every second --> Tastes in interests always change as you live Unlimited benefits.
pattern across personal agents + fintech: #1 use case seems to be finding + executing savings (agentic rocket money), retrieving lost funds, + point-in-time rate shopping problem is these are high value but low frequency. can only cancel a subscription once + once ur insurance/card renewals are shopped, you're not gonna think ab them for another 12 mos prolly part of why Muse retention is falling off (73% day 1 to 22% by day 14 per Sensor Tower, now below ChatGPT) + also part of why Muse is low key harassing me (sends like 5 messages every day with ideas for things it can do for me) - proactive doesn’t help if the actions suggested aren't worth doing 🤷‍♂️

Just wait until the robots hit the scene, and businesses complete their AI-transformations. We aren't even at a 1% transformation rate of businesses today. So early. What we are going through is a complete refactoring of how all forms work gets done. It's empowering to those that embrace it now, and daunting for those that resist it. But it's here, and it's happening, and the box was willingly opened. My prediction: The revisions shall rise, or they'll stop reporting all together. The numbers are going to be that bad, and leaders don't have answers for 'what comes next', because everyone is trying to figure it out as we go. The bet on AI has been made; we now live with the consequences -- the good, and the bad. Change is uncomfortable, and the only thing more uncomfortable than that is it happening at a high velocity. Knowledge work --> AI with some human judgement Physical work --> Robots (with AI) Entertainment --> Creative humans (with AI) It doesn't happen over night -- It happens slowly, but its acceleration is coded. You can feel the exponential curve. What we need to start to consider is the new AI social contract so that humanities displacement (as a labor force powering global GDP) has a +EV tradeoff for humanity. This means ownership, not more speculation on outcomes. Tangible ownership of the gains. Assets with economic value, not binary options and sports betting contracts. The later are largely -EV to participants, because you are competing with...AI! AI is an accelerant to learning when you curate your data lakes and remain motivated. Lean in now!
Replying to @ncote90
Just wait until the job revision numbers hit over the next couple of years (as well as this month). The downward projections will be biblical. The forces displacing human labor now are more than just financial / economic (as they were in 2008 / 2009). Get equity and re-tool.

The central idea in ‘Westworld’ wasn’t that machines became conscious by getting smarter. It was that consciousness emerged when they began remembering their suffering instead of resetting after it. Now we’re giving NPCs persistent memories, identities, and the ability to hold grudges. It will make replay value skyrocket. Very fitting that these experiments begin in RDR.
Red Dead Redemption 2 just got a new mod titled "enRAGE" that adds a fully functional nemesis system into the game. This makes every single NPC have a name, traits, quirks, a trade, a faith, a family and a life story. So people you meet turn up again in the same towns with the same face and the same grudges as it adds a full memory system. The map is now populated with 8 factions that are constantly at war with each other, having their own hierarchy and captains that you or their enemies can take out. Every single encounter is remembered, including exactly where you wounded them in the case that they survive the fight. This means that RDR2 now has a fully functional faction war that goes on all the time with this mod and factions will remember your actions against them. There is a ton of new dialogue and you can even interrogate NPCs now to get additional information on their friends and allies. This is an extremely impressive mod and it's now available in early access to download for anyone who has RDR2 on PC.

We are so far down the tech tree, isolationism is not an option to continue technological progress due to the complexity of supply chains. Isolationism is back on the table if a country develops the equillivant of replicator technology, removing the dependencies.

It's a data grab. Humanity is the training data -- It just so happens that you must click the consent button for whatever data that can't be publicly scraped. 🫡

Imagine a future where everyone receives a universal high income, but the paper money you receive loses another 90% of purchasing power over the next 8 years. Productive assets (generates cash flow or somehow critical to key supply chains) skyrocket. The wealth gap accelerates
Treasuries are apt to correct some in here -- perhaps back to 5.25% on the T30y But the major trend in yields is up with our target for the 30-Yr at around 8%. The Fed will have a hard time even holding this ceiling

It’s easier than ever to create entertainment that is personalized, and it’s only going to continue to trend in that direction. Human attention patterns will shift dramatically. Dark times ahead for pre-ai entertainment companies imo.

It's like moving from a manual transmission to an automatic transmission. What % of cars have a manual transmission and how many people can operate them? That's where software engineering is going. Quality & security will only ramp from here.

This is what reading the writing on the wall looks like. Polar opposite reaction of how Hollywood & the music industry responded when torrenting hit the scene.
MICROSOFT JUST CAVED TO THE MODDERS 🚨 Xbox is launching "Xbox Labs" to experiment with AI-assisted development, decompilation and cross-platform ports, and it wants players to become creators. Their own words: "Giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models." Community decomps and AI reverse engineering forced their hand. When you can't stop it, you join it.

The last message you read before disk space was nuked. I had to set up an agent to keep things tidy on a daily basis.
Day 9/ We've rolled out optimizations to how we store state on disk for the chatgpt & codex desktop app that should reduce the amount stored on disk by 60%. Small ship but we've heard enough feedback about power users running out of disk space.

The golden age of content & entertainment creation is here. You simply need to get over the fact that AI has a hand in creating it -- The sooner you do this, the sooner you can participate in the golden age. Another example of this landed two days ago and the comment section speaks for itself: It's very good. youtube.com/watch?v=ylqN3q04… Implementations of AI productivity in knowledge work will be done by businesses leveraging FDE / FDO pods like we do @GoChiriAI, but as individuals, you can focus on the entertainment side; which has unlimited demand, and it's never been easier to capture attention. AI handles the heavy lifts of coding & other backend specializations, while you focus on the creative elements. Accelerate.
We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration. The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.
