One thing I’ve learned from talking with @YouTubeCreators over the years: the best work often comes from making something authentic, putting it out into the world and learning what connects with people.
At #MIPCOM this week, that theme was part of a bigger conversation about what creators and traditional media can learn from each other. @DEADLINE spotlights some of the European creators right in the middle of it.

I recently sat down with @Oprah at @Google Zeitgeist to talk about storytelling, listening to your audience and the importance of human connection.
She shared lessons from decades of conversations with people from every walk of life, including one that has stayed with her: everyone wants to feel seen and heard.
That truth shaped our conversation about the responsibility of running @YouTube and what that means to me personally. Ultimately our job is to build the stage where great ideas find their audience and people can connect.

Exciting news: Ask @YouTube on search is now rolling out on mobile in the U.S. 📲
Tap “Ask” in the search bar and use conversational questions to get you to the right video faster, for example:
🍂 Which national parks are best for fall colors?
🚗 What’s the best route for a 3 day road trip from SF to LA?
✂️ How to cut bangs at home? (If you’re brave enough!)
Huge kudos to our YouTube teams for constantly innovating and reimagining how viewers explore. Give it a try next time you search.

Troye got his start right here on @YouTube, sharing bedroom covers and candid vlogs while building a community of fans all over the world. Today, he’s selling out arenas and bringing that same authentic approach to his music and visual storytelling. Can’t wait for his new album next month!
So much energy and creativity in NYC with @YouTubeCreators at #MadeOnYouTube. Our job is to innovate and build creators the ultimate stage to share their story, so they can focus on their craft and create moments the world never forgets. @YouTube remains the epicenter of culture because of them and the unmatched passion of their communities.
Custom feeds are the next step in giving viewers more control over their YouTube experience. Really proud of how hard the team worked to build this. Great breakdown by @WIRED on how they work in practice.

What a day in New York City with so many incredible @YouTubeCreators and artists! At #MadeOnYouTube, we shared our next wave of innovation for the @YouTube Era.
Creators and artists took the stage to introduce our latest tools and show what’s possible, from custom feeds to conversational discovery with Ask Music and intelligent creation tools in YouTube Studio.
Thanks to everyone who made this day possible!
This is what it looks like to innovate in the @YouTube Era, where entertainment is built from the ground up by creators and the communities that fuel them.
At our fifth annual #MadeOnYouTube, we announced 30+ new products and features to power the next wave of creativity and give you more control over how you watch.
We’re introducing custom feeds you can tailor to your interests, moods and routines, new conversational tools to explore what you love, plus new ways to follow the stories you love and connect with creators.
To bring fans closer to their favorite @YouTubeCreators, new features like interactive showdowns, co-streaming and live reactions are making streams even more fun. And we've renewed our partnership with @Coachella to remain the exclusive livestream home of music’s biggest festival.
For creators, we’re investing across every stage of the creative journey. That includes AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio to handle the heavy lifting of production, new ways to test what resonates with their audience and expanded storytelling formats.
We continue to build the most diversified revenue engine on the planet. That means backing creators with the largest ad revenue payouts in the industry, a share of our booming subscription business and a growing suite of fan funding products. And we're increasingly focused on a new engine of growth: fueling the brand-creator ecosystem.
I’m grateful to all the creators who spent the day with us. And most importantly, a huge thank you to all our YouTube teams who work so hard every day to build these innovative products.
5/ 🛒 We’re also expanding earning opportunities through YouTube Shopping. @Amazon has joined our Shopping affiliate program in the US, India and Brazil with more countries coming this fall.
💳 Plus, new cross-border transactions automatically localize product tags so creators earn commissions no matter where their fans are buying.
