Mississippi fun fact: Scott Colom was nominated to be a federal judge by Joe Biden. And he was blocked by… Cindy-Hyde Smith, via the blue slip process. Now Colom leads Hyde-Smith by 1,138 votes in what would be the upset of the century.

JUST IN: British comedian and actor Russell Brand has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault in a London court
The judge, Justice Joel Bennathan, told Brand the consequence of the verdicts is a “significant custodial term” and said he would have to remain in prison until he is formally sentenced on Monday.
“You’ve been convicted of a number of offenses including rape,” Bennathan said, adding that Brand inevitably faced a “significant” prison sentence.

Across the country there was a huge shift away from Trump based on affordability and the Iran war, tariffs, imported beef, gas prices. People reacting to how their daily lives are affected. Not western Nebraska. Not Ricketts and Pillen. They doubled down with defiance.

Kansas Senator-elect Adam Hamilton, a United Methodist pastor, on transgender Kansans: “Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.”
Hamilton told KMBC that Republicans have “turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

Compare and contrast the post election speeches this morning of Mike Flood and Pete Ricketts. Mike was humble and gracious and spoke of finding common ground; Ricketts gave a bitter partisan hyperbolic "Trump Rally" rant. Maybe because he has a six year term.
