To come out of the rat race, I took another step in 2023 CE. With due apologies to my highly respected nominators, I withdrew my nominations from the science academies six months after the nomination. No disrespect to the academies, but it was my personal choice. I feel more relaxed and happy now. From 2024 CE onward, I will try my best to concentrate more on actual research that solves at least one fundamental question or helps society. It could be also the development of a useful methodology (something I could do during my PhD). I was slowly taking steps. A few years back, I stopped applying for awards, was able to block my nomination for a private research society membership (famous for its exotic meeting locations), stopped mentioning impact factors against my publications, stopped sending manuscripts of our group projects to journals that accept almost everything and started encouraging my students to publish independently.

Why is this #Pappu Company Ltd disturbing the #DurgaPuja and #Navratri festivals? The gang is always against #Indian culture.

Just use the well-known formula.

Why @ISRO and @MIB_India are not trying to create Bharat’s own #satellite based #internet network. @narendramodi

What a goal…!!! @Lalremsiami30 What a save…!!! @savitahockey Congratulations on winning Gold..!!! Team India led by @SalimaTete and the coach @SjoerdMarijne I feel incredibly fortunate to have watched the Indian Women's team win Gold in both 1982 and 2026, and ironically, both times without a TV at home. Back in 1982, when I didn't understand the ABCs of hockey, my father took us to the Patna Radio Station to watch the live telecast on two color TV sets installed side by side. I vaguely remember just being happy that India had won, since victory and loss were the only concepts I understood, and the only things that mattered, at that age. Today, watching the final on my laptop, the experience was vastly different. Every move on the field mattered, and I could appreciate the deep, slow-motion analyses. Yet, despite understanding the game so much better now, the sheer emotion of the victory remained exactly the same as it was in 1982. @TheHockeyIndia

GREAT.....👏👏👏

One more proof why we should not trust these portals like @CNN, @AFP, @BBCWorld, @nytimes, @WSJ, and @SkyNews, which not only propagate fake news but are also anti-India and sympathize with terrorists.

Today is the 93ʳᵈ birthday of my father, Prof. Ramesh Nadan Prasad Barial, and I am sure he would have celebrated it with some academic work and guidance to us. He was a dedicated researcher, an inspiring academician, and a person with a positive mindset and willpower. Having lost his mother in 1947, just 48 hrs after Bharat’s independence, and his father in 1956, he changed the course of his career to suit the challenging financial conditions, though he wanted to be a CA as he was a good student of Commerce. Nevertheless, he became the first person in #Bihar to be awarded a #PhD in the Faculty of #Education. He was also the first and only person that year to receive a #UGC fellowship to pursue a PhD in Bihar, in the Faculty of Education, for which he received ₹150 per month. His life journey continues to inspire and motivate me.

Tribute to Shri Arun Jaitley Ji on his Punyatithi. He was a thinker, visionary, and astute policymaker. In his very first budget presented on 10 July 2014, he highlighted the role of @ICGEBNewDelhi in fostering global partnerships in #Biotechnology and laid the foundation for its further development. He gave due importance to the Life Science sector in India, whose benefits we are seeing today.
