This week I’m collecting a lot of art and I’ve realized a few things that I’d like to highlight! 👇🏼 10 Essential tips for artists in Web3: 1. If you have a Linktree or website with links to all your marketplaces, please make sure the links work. I’ve found many broken links, and it’s frustrating. 2. Use the same username across all marketplaces and social media. It makes it easier to find you. 3. I also recommend using the same profile picture on all platforms to ensure you’re recognizable and to maintain a consistent brand identity. 4. If you link your social media to marketplaces, check that those links work too. 5. As a collector, I appreciate it when you mint a piece with a brief description. As an artist, I understand it takes extra work, but I recommend you to explain how it was made, the materials used, the narrative, etc. This helps the collector connect more with the piece. 6. Be mindful of your pricing strategy: If you constantly mint free art or have many very very cheap editions, collectors may be reluctant to purchase your more expensive pieces. Ensure there is a clear value difference between your free and premium artworks to justify the higher prices. 7. Your profile on X is your calling card. Ensure all your posts are well-presented. Pin your latest work or an introduction about yourself. Try not to just be a shop; share interesting things that allow collectors to get to know you better. 8. Stay active and engaged in the community. Join art-related discussions, participate in events, and support other artists. Building a network can help you grow and reach more potential collectors 9. Don’t overwhelm collectors with direct messages. Be polite and respectful, and interact genuinely on posts. Don’t send a cold DM as it will likely go unopened. 10. Finally, create without limits but mint wisely. Scarcity matters. Marketing is important, and things need to be done right. Otherwise, the image you project will seem mediocre. There are very few of us in Web3, and eventually, we all get to know each other. Be honest and kind. There’s a lot of art but few collectors, so make your art outstanding and your image impeccable.
