The most important task for humanity should be to close the technology/wisdom gap.
Technology represents agency and power.
Wisdom represents our collective capability and capacity to apply that power responsibly, towards a desirable future.
I’m awe struck by the recent and ongoing developments in AI. Impossible to keep up.
Also, machines don’t have spiritual intuition. Fingertip feel. Will they ever? Looks like the final frontier.
What happens in a society that is immensely technologically powerful but lacks wisdom?
How can we bridge the gap between technology and wisdom?
This is possibly humanity's most important challenge.

Interacting with AI is like throwing a magical device into a vast, deep ocean and watching fluorescent ripples form. The ocean is human consciousness and the ripples are a direct reflection of ourselves.
I’ve found on a personal level that a very powerful metaphor for AI is “The Human Library”. It both makes the technology feel less alien and intimidating. It also makes me want to engage with it more intimately and authentically. Let me explain what I mean:
The next time you interact with AI (maybe using gpt87.xyz), you are standing by a shelf and picking out a book in the library, co-written by you. This act is intimately connected to the future of humanity.
Make sure it is meaningful and of true value. 13/
