Hackney Council says Vincent Stops "applied to the Hackney Central Community panel as a local resident".
BUT
There was no call for new panel members.
He doesn't live in Hackney Central.
He's not on the list of Panel members.
He got a place as an ex-councillor and in secret.
Introduce RUC now!

On the way from Brighton to Newhaven a few days ago we rode on what must be a historic bus stop bypass.
It was far preferable than our children riding on a high-speed, busy and dangerous road.
Please don't try to ban these important pieces of infrastructure @Meg_HillierMP.
Pls can you engage with people who know about building active travel infrastructure @Meg_HillierMP?
Banning bus stop bypasses means no continuous cycle network, thus cycling only for the brave.
In a climate emergency.
In an obesity crisis.
Children unable to travel independently.
Yesterday there was another serious collision on Kenworthy Road involving a driver and a cyclist.
How many more KSIs until @TfL take action and make this road safe for cycling?

It shouldn't take a death for action.
This is clearly not a safe cycle route as in its current designation (I say designation as it was never designed for cycling).
We need to hear what @TfL are planning to ensure there is never another casualty or fatality on LCN 8.

🔥Unprecedented & simply magnificent. That time in Nov 2024 when a haka led by Aotearoa’s youngest MP 22yo Hana-Rawhiti Kareariki Maipi-Clarke erupted in the House stopping the Treaty Principles Bill from passing its first reading, triggering the Speaker to suspend Parliament.

.@willnorman as London's Walking & Cycling Commissioner your output on X seems solely congratulatory.
I find it dismaying you haven't publicly said anything about @hackneycouncil's dangerous Pembury Junction plans. Why?!
1. Their junction fails JAT safety assessment!
1/
5. It does not provide segregated cycle provision
6. It slows buses as cyclists are on the road
7. It removes a pedestrian crossing on Amhurst Rd west
8. It creates an environment for pavement cycling for cyclists unwilling to use the road

Hackney’s decision to progress with a substandard design for Pembury Junction is deeply disappointing.
It also exposes a lot of Hackney’s disjointed and confused thinking and policy making.
This thread is important for your transport remit @SarahWoodberryD. 👇

In no way can a junction design that FAILS on safety be allowed to be implemented.
Hackney Council Pembury Junction plans are not fit for purpose & must be scrapped.
& @hackney_cycling have an alternate Vision Zero scheme designed by a leading engineer available!

The new Pembury scheme is discussed. Astonishingly the new scheme will score just 28% on a safety assessment tool (JAT). This is a fail by a long way (70% is an automatic fail) and a very bad engineering design.
