Coming soon to the Getting Lit Podcast, some of the best books of 2026! @verdur_in @BooksBonfire @bookclubhell666 @supersquat1

I have de Sade which I liked when I had a sample but never been able to wear it since buying the bottle as it grosses me out now. Truly avant garde crazy scent that earns its name. I also have Jasmine et Cigarette, Herman a mes Cotes, Fat Electrician, Rien and maybe some others.
RIP Ryu Murakami. I’ve read two of his books and they both ruled.

Ryu Murakami left behind one of the greatest bodies of literary work of any writer this generation. Almost Transparent Blue and In the Miso Soup are two of my favorite novels ever. More than any other writer, Murakami’s work had a hard boiled literary reportage even as the the content embraced aspects of surrealism and weird fiction. Furthermore, he wrote in a style that shunned flowery prose in favor of a pared down but highly physical intensity that channeled the feeling of the best thriller movies. One of a kind writer, I’ll miss him.
