app opening animations used to be EXTREMELY smooth and have insanely soft transitions before they changed the animations in 26. now they feel so stiff and sometimes weirdly jittery for some reason
can anyone following me from Apple please let the Springboard team know about this....

i'll say it. this is the most braindead direction in AI right now
the tech is insane, yes. it sounds human, it laughs, it stops mid sentence, it drops the “uuhh”
that's EXACTLY what's wrong with it
we spent decades making computers fast and precise and now we're paying billions to make them hesitate like a nervous dude
when i talk to a model i want answers AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. i don't want a fake friend that talks over me
if you want a human experience go talk to a REAL human with REAL emotions. touch grass bro please
and honestly if you're so lonely that you need a machine to fake pauses and laughs for you, that's not a product problem, that's a you problem
this app is cooking people's brains and this is the proof
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

I hadn’t worked on my racing game project in a while so I decided to give 6.1 a look at it because the handling model still has some issues
and after working on it for a few hours I have reached the conclusion that LLMs are bad at physics
and I don’t know whether I still want to try moving forward with this dream of mine
and like I don’t think it is a programming problem but more of a physics problem and the way the current model I have is set up

Replying to @nitzukai
and back when UI design was being done to solve genuine problems, instead of justifying the continued employment of a design department at a company where there's nothing more left to design
I still remember when chrome put the tab bar above the address bar and we all went “fuck that makes so much sense”
The attachment between the tab and the page was literally the key defining characteristic of that UI element. It visually grouped the tab header with the page it controlled. The sloped edges of the tab also aided in differentiating foreground vs. background tabs.
So they took that away and now everything is a floating pill.

it’s a shame this app’s update for the Duo was such a lazy cop out. especially since they had a way, way better version about 16 years ago. i spent a couple of hours and made (imo) a far better app experience that actually takes advantage of the screen space.
