I do know a lot of smart developers who's whole identity is to be the smartest person in the room. It's all they have, and now that's being taken away from them. That's crisis-inducing. I totally understand that.
I don't know a single developer who's better and smarter than Opus 5.5. Why are you still so obsessed with handholding it and reviewing every little thing it does? You should let it review your work, not the other way around.

Well over FIVE THOUSAND plugins now for Omarchy. And that's just the ones that have been published! Thousands more are truly bespoke and individualized creations just for the maker themselves. This is a whole new age of software for sure.

I'm sorry to be so direct but if you're prioritizing your career over having a family it's probably the stupidest decision you're making in your life right now. It's not even an either or question! You can have both! Just don't pick a career over having kids.
one finding that comes up again and again in surveys is that people name family as one of the biggest sources of happiness and meaning in their lives

"why even have children if AI and robots will do all the work?" brother, the point of having machines do the work is that humans get to enjoy being alive and do what's fulfilling. more time with your family, more things to create. children growing up with possibilities that their parents couldn't even imagine. how can you look at that future and decide the children are the unnecessary part?
