If you are Dougie Hamilton and you have one year left on your deal and are the sole piece that the devils need to move to acquire quinn, would you block a trade to get in the way of that happening? Honestly if i were him and that was the situation i’d let the team trade me
Honestly cannot believe Noesen wasn’t claimed. Like how do the canucks or flames or blackhawks not claim him? At the worst you have a deadline trade asset for 2nd-4th round pick. IDGI
My notes on tonight’s game:
-Daws is kinda ass
-Keefe’s system is kinda ass. Same old offense as last year. Too much talent. No rythem.
Devils currently have 14 Forwards + 2 ELC forwards (Lenni & Lombardi)
They have $8.5m in cap space which can easily be moved between:
Bjugstad - $1.75m
Mercer - $4.0m
Noesen - $2.75m
These aren’t dumps either, they’re actual assets that teams would want to acquire
Keys to the season: Luke, Mercer, Meier stepping up their production. If they do, this lineup is a 10/10

Worth pointing out that dougie is back to looking like the dougie this fanbase once fell in love with
Unfortunate that his career here was riddled with injuries. He looked really bad at times this year, likely due to nagging injuries which have a real impact on play
Looking back on the goalie situation over the years since fitz took over is kinda crazy
Signed Corey Crawford who retired before the season started and never played
Signed Jonathan Bernier who played a handful of games before a career ending injury

Over the years there were moves that could’ve been made - not many but i’m sure you all remember:
-trade for connor hellebuyck
-trade for john gibson
-trade for jacob markstrom
We ended up making the move for markstrom who had a fine first year but is miserable now
We’ve been getting goalied
After a myriad of injuries, we played 3 games now healthy
Even though we lost all 3, we’ve been dominating 5-5 play and all 4 lines look great
Devils are about to get on a heater

I’ll say this - barring any new serious injuries, this feels like the absolute bottom for #njdevils this season
With that being said, they were dominant when healthy to start the season. They’re healthy again
Give it a few games for them to find their mojo
