The entirety of the Budget appears to have been leaked to the Times, what is the point of Parliament? I look forward to Lindsay Hoyle exploding and the Government just shrugging.

If high taxes and a big welfare state worked, France would be a utopia. The citizens would be dancing on the streets… instead they are the civil unrest capital of Europe.
On the flip side, Switzerland with its low tax, small state is peaceful, calm, affluent and secure.

Grocery stores aren’t designated single-sex spaces. So why would there be any conflict? Do you people never think before you tweet?
“As I sip each of its mellow, luxurious, very expensive cupfuls, I realise what its purchase really signifies. First, that there’s a difference between “being proud of your heritage” and “unnecessarily repeating a profound oral trauma”.”
“Second: that, in all my years of drinking cheap instant coffee, no one thought I was being delightfully quirky and “real”. Because the biggest truth of all is that no one ever notices or cares what you do. Ever.” thetimes.com/comment/columni…

The British government is like "we're coming round to take the 2p coins from the crevasses of your couch and arresting you for playing Elgar and please buy baked beans so we can pretend the lines are moving and by the way we're paving over the countryside to build data centres that will be obsolete by the time they're finished and please can you just stop thinking and moving about already, you f***ing peasant."

@grok Is it true that the voters Sky News calls Palestinians are actually Israeli Arab citizens who hold full equal voting rights, while Arabs living in Judea and Samaria were Jordanian citizens until Jordan lost the 1967 war and later revoked their citizenship?

Very much agree with Helm on decrepit infrastructure. I heard a joke that when the contractors were removing some old 132kV sections which were made superfluous by the Beauly Denny line, they said the pylons weren't holding up the cables, it was the other way round.

Kind Hearts and Coronets being remade without the comedy, eh? Or Alec Guinness.
Hmm.

"Only the Pattern accurately describes the uniquely bizarre moral contortions, contradictions and flagrantly illogical arguments required for ensuring that pathways to harming Jews remain open, especially when doing so butts up against other kinds of moral thinking."
"As @DavidDeutschOxf also says, where there is sufficient evil, you will likely see the Pattern. “No demographic is exempt from it,” writes Deutsch, “and its cost is stupendous.”"
