Where Metro goes, community grows.
NoMa-Gallaudet U shows what can happen when transit and development grow together. The station area leads the Metro system in transit-oriented development added since 2019, with 10,826 new residential units and $4.28 billion in added assessed property value.
That growth is reflected at the station, where NoMa-Gallaudet U has been a leader in ridership recovery and is setting new ridership records.
Behind those numbers is a neighborhood where homes, jobs, shops, and public spaces come together, with Metro connecting the community to opportunities across the region.
That’s transit-oriented development: supporting economic growth and making it easier to reach everyday destinations without a car.

Union Market is getting DC’s first solo standing brick & mortar Tours Les Jour, Korean-French bakery. This will be TLJ’s 2nd location in DC (first is inside Luna Hall Chinatown). If they keep their late night hours, gamechanger for getting late night coffee & pastries in DC 🤩

Two updates on the flood prone spot on the MBT south of Alethia Tanner Park under NY Avenue:
First, @NoMaBID did amazing work this week to clear out the lake of icy standing water and make the Trail passable again. Big thanks to their team!
Second, this update from DDOT:
Thank you to @CMZParker5 for asking @DDOTDC today about what it will cost to fix the constantly-flooding part of the Metropolitan Branch Trail under New York Avenue NE.
Thousands of residents, commuters, and tourists use the MBT daily and this problem can make it impassable.

Today, @charlesallen helped cut the ribbon on @georgetown's new space at 111 Mass Ave NW! The areas between Union Station & the core of downtown keep evolving & the university is helping lead the way. This is a remarkable example of reusing a building for today & the future.
