There's a lot of misinformation out there claiming there is no constitutional right to a primary, and that SCMO isn't violating the Constitution by having general elections done under a map different from how the primary elections were done. This is wrong. While there is no constiutional requirement that states provide voters with primary elections on the first place, the constitution also requires that, if primaries *are* provided, the general election must be done under the same terms as the primaries. States can't have primaries under one type of map and then switch to a different map for the general election.
