The No Straw Stand

We've decided that our time actively campaigning with #TheNoStrawStand has come to an end. One of our main aims was not to be needed anymore and we feel #Cardiff as truly embraced what we were all about. We'd like to say a big DIOLCH to everyone. 💚💚💚 Full statement ⬇️

Our social medias will stay active as a record and in case anyone would like to get in touch about single use plastic campaigning. Anyone is also more than welcome to get in touch with founders Nia (@_niahjones) and Doug (@DouglasRLewns) 💙

Are you a student in #Cardiff and want to get more involved in ocean conservation and learn more about our underwater world? Make sure to give @CardiffMarine a follow and become a member this year for all the updates!

Remember recycling should only be our last resort regarding waste management solutions. The McDonald's drama just highlights the difficulty some businesses face when taking #TheNoStrawStand and how the government needs to improve infrastructure to support them.

Plastic in Paradise. Just a tiny fraction of plastic found on the beach today in Dhigurah, which is surrounded by an MPA. Just off the coast is a wilderness of turtles, whale sharks, dolphins and rays, all of which are extremely vulnerable to our obsession with single use plastic

This #WorldOceansDay we're thinking about how we can further protect our oceans from increasing human disturbance. Let's continue to pressure governments for brave and transformative policies that make it easier for the consumer to avoid #singleuseplastic! 🌊

Another Cardiff business putting sustainability over convenience. We love it! Well done @spiritsremedies for taking #TheNoStrawStand. So great that more and more cocktail bars are deciding the ditch single use plastic! Which bar should be next?!

The UK Government has banned plastic straws, stirrers and buds in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. We're now calling on @WelshGovernment to impose the same regulations in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 as soon as possible, making it even easier for individuals to take #TheNoStrawStand. RT to show your support! 🚫🥤

Congratulations to Penarth! #plasticfreepenarth
