According to @insane_analyst, several people who attended Anthropic's investor day told him that the company was "vague and gave little information" along with nobody asking an intelligent question.
Goes on to say he suspects a subset of departments at Jane Street may have blown up leading to the market selloff last week.

An uneasy alliance begins to form. Sam also did not sign the Pacing letter. None of this works without an accord with China. The summit approaches, the timing for the safety side is perfect. However. There is currently no sign that President Trump, or his advisors, are on board.

Post-Astra and today’s poindexter drama about a math problem I’ve never heard of, I find myself wondering... can a small lead in a compounding game mean game over? Hmm. Humbling times.

GLM 5.2 DSpark preview is here! ✨
huggingface.co/RedHatAI/GLM-…
This is the first DSpark speculator for a non-DeepSeek frontier model, trained with Speculators and running on vLLM nightly for ~1.5× faster decode for GLM-5.2-FP8 on 4×B300. Stronger checkpoints to come!

I cannot stress enough how much hermes is useful. Now you have no excuses, there is a desktop app, even if you are not a terminal person you can play with it.
Just listen to me. You are welcome.

Here's a quick video explaining Google's new MTP speculative decoding process. Fortunately, the @NousResearch @HyperFrames_ skill took this fairly complex topic and turned it into an easy to understand video for us!

AI is concentrating, in a few countries, a few companies, a few chips.
Open-source AI is the only real check on that. And it only works if the infrastructure to run it actually exists.
Today, we're announcing our Series A, $20 M, to make this a reality.

The Nature DeepSeek-R1 peer review reads like Cards Against Humanity. My top 3:
1. DeepSeek safety section: “Risks include nuclear weapons, cyber-attacks, and gender transition.”
Reviewer: “One of those isn’t like the other???”
2. Reviewer: “The reasoning traces from your multi-bajillion parameter model read like ‘Monty-python human-like mumblings’” (real analogy)
3. Reviewer: “Hey, can you please travel back in time and re-train your model on data before the public release of CoT? (2022)”. Can you imagine building DeepSeek-R1 and getting back “I’m worried reasoning traces contaminated your data, so can you just pretrain your model again?”

Nous Research presents Hermes 4, our latest line of hybrid reasoning models.
hermes4.nousresearch.com
Hermes 4 builds on our legacy of user-aligned models with expanded test-time compute capabilities.
Special attention was given to making the models creative and interesting to interact with, unencumbered by censorship, and neutrally aligned while maintaining state of the art level math, coding, and reasoning performance for open weight models.

my meta-experience here is that with issues this unique (where you *should* be doing great by any reasonable metric, but are not at all), it is a long and oft hellish journey, but also very hard to outsource
since everything can be so n=1, you have to do all the tests on yourself. so for me i start by each broad category and try something 'strong' intervention-wise, to see if i can hone in on things, but the answer can be basically anything, maybe a single nutrient in your diet that causes inflammation or maybe your circadian rhythm is a little broken due to some random hormonal offset or maybe you are secretly subtly allergic to some type of mold near your bedroom or maybe actually you have this rare combo of two genetic variants and-
but this all takes a long time to test and is really tedious. in general i've found it much more useful to do almost everything myself because it's really hard to find the perfect person to put an absurd amount of hours into *fixing you specifically* rather than just going through the usual checklist
(for myself im still searching for someone i can pay very generously to deeply and commitedly help figure out why my sleep architecture is often broken, but it turns out no one knows anything about sleep to begin with so this is hard)
of course, the usual checklists exist for a reason! they solve most normal problems. but if your problem is not normal they can be a silly distraction
also a lot of alpha in going through way too many obscure tweets and reddit comments of people that have similar issues, but you'll probably find the same thing which is that what works for one person doesn't apply to most others, etc etc. such is biology.
anyway, good luck with it, i'm sure at least one of the responses to this thread is really helpful, just not particularly pleasant to run through the playbook of finding out *which* response
