Several days and 70 commits later I'm finally done with a Pester 5 migration. I did a full redesign of test cases, which now use updated syntax to execute same tests against various RDBMS. Really happy with how it looks now! One step closer to 1.0! github.com/dataplat/dbops/pu…

dbatools 2.0 will be one "meta module" that contains multiple underlying modules. Functionally, end-users will not notice much outside of commands loading faster and we'll all still:
Install-Module dbatools
When you hide your #powershell code behind a docker container so that other people on the team can also use it
I was trying to create an arm64 Docker container on my Mac to ship some #pwsh code and it was complaining about the mcr.microsoft.com/powershell native image. Found a solution in a GitHub issue, in comments, and commenter's avatar looked familiar. Thanks @cl :D

It's tempting to just use the Services MMC to change the SQL service account, but try to resist. Instead, use Update-DbaServiceAccount by @nvarscar which also updates permissions, including read access to any certs being used for encrypted connections 🤩 docs.dbatools.io/Update-DbaS…

Looking for a place in Berlin for 3 Ukranian folks to stay at for 2-4 weeks. They have family in the US and are trying to move on, and they just made it to Berlin. If anyone has connections or recommendations to make this happen, DMs are open. Thanks!

I like so much new automated way to upgrade CU for #SQLServer with @psdbatools ... I just have to run one command and to wait (with a coffee) and monitor everything come back to normal 😎

Hey everyone, we're looking for an Automation DBA in the Operations team. PostgreSQL + Ansible + Python is the sweet spot, but don't hesitate to apply if you're great at one and willing to grow into the other. PDT, remote or not, great team and benefits.

Now I'm curious... if you've used @psdbatools for migrations - do you usually go for the big bang approach with Start-DbaMigration, or a more piecemeal approach using the Copy-Dba commands?
35%Start-DbaMigration
65%Piecemeal - Copy-Dba*

dbatools 1.1.0 has dropped 🥳 We've made a ton of changes, like adding more support for Azure and Linux. We did up our requirements to .NET 4.6.2 (released in 2018) but dbatools now works even better on all platforms. More details here 👇🏽 github.com/sqlcollaborative/…

Finally finished my blogpost on Python module documentation: nvarscar.wordpress.com/2021/…
Let me know what you think!
After a long hiatus, today a new version of #DBOps Powershell module has been released: 0.7.0. In a new version, baseline DbUp journalling was improved to include a few extra columns, including appliedBy, checksum and executionTime.
I needed to name a column that contains info on whether a table is referenced by a foreign key. My brain thought .5 seconds before going with "is_fked"
Congrats @jpomfret! Honored to have you in the team!
