YAVALA CHARGES NYSC PLATEAU STAFF ON SECURITY, DISCIPLINE AHEAD OF 2026 BATCH ‘C’ STREAM II ORIENTATION
The Plateau State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Jonathan Iliya Yavala, has charged staff members to strengthen security, maintain discipline and demonstrate commitment to their duties ahead of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Exercise.
Yavala gave the charge during a general staff meeting at the NYSC Plateau State Secretariat, Jos, where issues relating to preparations for the forthcoming orientation exercise and the overall performance of staff were discussed.
He disclosed that the exercise was scheduled to be the last orientation course for the year, barring any changes.
The State Coordinator urged staff to build on the successes recorded during the previous orientation exercise by taking their assigned responsibilities seriously, maintaining regular attendance at camp programmes and avoiding truancy. He also emphasised the need for effective security measures, directing that all visitors must be properly identified and cleared before being allowed into the camp.
Yavala further stressed the importance of strict adherence to sanitation and hygiene guidelines issued by the Directorate Headquarters, particularly those relating to the camp environment and kitchen. He urged staff to take appropriate precautions against possible disease outbreaks and suggested the procurement of a non-contact thermometer to support health screening during the exercise.
In his remarks, the Camp Director for the forthcoming 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Exercise, Mr Yohanna Pantu, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to participate in another orientation exercise. He called on staff to sustain the teamwork, synergy and resilience that had contributed to previous successes, while assuring them of an open-door leadership policy that encourages communication, feedback and the prompt reporting of concerns.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for staff members to contribute to discussions on preparations for the forthcoming orientation exercise and other operational matters.

Dear NYSC, good afternoon o
Please change your style. The silence about Call up Number from you people is not helping. The uncertainty is messing with our plans. Kindly put us into consideration. @officialnyscng
Dear NYSC, good morning o.
Please improve your mode of communication with PCMs, don't just announce camp opening dates, start announcing exact dates you will drop call up numbers too.
The call up number mystery is not necessary and it's not fair.

Replying to @nysc360
The disappointment of successful registration without call of number is very painful.
NYSC is a complete waste of time, You can never get the best out of it.
Whoever started this belief, please, allow us to breathe.
Have you ever imagined what you would do if you had just 12 months to live, and your doctor told you to spend that time doing the things you know would make you happy and fulfilled?
I bet some of you would become intentional about every single day. You would pursue opportunities, learn new skills, build connections and stop postponing the things that matter to you.
Now, let me be honest with you…
NYSC no be scam ooo!
Dear Corper, you can achieve a lot during your service year, but you need more than just wearing khaki, going to your PPA and waiting for POP.
In my first 10 months of NYSC, I worked at my PPA, applied for opportunities, secured an opportunity with an NGO and invested in my personal development.
Did everything happen by chance? No.
I had to take action, explore opportunities, learn and become intentional about my growth.
Your NYSC year can be more than just a year of service. It can be a season of preparation, growth and positioning for the future.
You don't need to have everything figured out. You need a plan, a roadmap and the willingness to take action.
I’ll share the steps I took to make my NYSC year count in the comment section.
Because if you are still serving, there is still time to make your own story different.
This is the Day 25 of my #30DaysToPOP series.
And if you’re seeing this post for the first time, follow me and subscribe for more NYSC stories, career lessons, opportunities and practical tips before I POP.

📢 *DEAR PCMs, TAKE NOTE OF YOUR NERD STATUS*
If your NERD status is showing:
“PARTIAL — Partially compliant (only one clearance requirement matches)”
👉 This simply means only ONE of the required NERD clearance requirements has matched successfully at the moment.
❌ It does not mean you have been rejected.
❌ It does not mean your NYSC registration has failed.
📝 ALSO TAKE NOTE
Based on the last stream, the NERD online status has nothing to do with your camp registration.
Once you have your NERD Clearance Slip and there is no issue with the slip, you should be fine.
⚠️ Do not use an edited or altered NERD Clearance Slip.
❗ IF YOUR NERD STATUS SHOWS “FAILED” OR “ERROR”
Kindly register/re-register for NERD with your correct details and upload/provide all the necessary documents required for your clearance.
Partial ≠ Failed. Don’t panic because of the “Partial” status. What matters is your NERD clearance and having the correct, genuine clearance slip.
