Uniquely, two Democratic Party candidates competed for the seat.
The Socialist Angela Gonzales-Torres soundly defeated party-backed incumbent, Gomez.
Bernie Sanders & Zohran Mamdani refused to endorse her, because of her βextremeβ opposition to Israeli genocide, AIPAC and big tech oligarchy. AOC went even further. She endorsed Gomez, the AIPAC funded Democrat.

Hasan helped democrats win primaries by leading his community to fundraise, knock doors, and work the phones. He then had to bite his tongue when a candidate he helped win a primary had to bow to the negative framing by mainstream media and Republicans.
He became the boogeyman.
He was the lead on every Fox News show. His name was on the tongue of the president of the United States and the prime minister of Israel.
He stood firm and continued to push his agenda all while his life was being threatened.
